An incredible dining experience in Brooklyn. The tasting menu feels like a theatrical performance — beautifully choreographed from start to finish. The French-Japanese fusion dishes are refined, balanced, and full of surprises. Service is attentive, the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and the location is very convenient by subway (but parking is nearly impossible). The duck pie is a stunning presentation, though the other dishes impressed me more in flavor. Perfect for a special occasion — they even offer a small cake if noted for a celebration. Would definitely return to try a new menu.

This was the best meal my wife and I have ever had. Every aspect of service was thoughtful and executed perfectly. Our glasses were never less than half full, flatware was changed before every course, and our menu was even personalized to wish us a happy anniversary. Each course was a perfectly balanced combination of flavors that delighted the palate. Having a front row seat to all of the hard work and artistry behind each dish was a delight. I can not recommend Restaurant Yuu highly enough.

Amazing food, amazing service. The appetizers were especially delicious and flavorful. I wasn’t a huge fan of the desserts, but still they are very delicious.

Just experienced the new menu at Restaurant Yuu! 🍴✨
A perfect balance of seafood and meat 🐟🥩, breathtaking presentation 🎨, and caviar piled so high it almost couldn’t fit in my mouth 💎😍.
During the main course, uplifting music filled the room 🎶, while every pairing drink was something truly special 🍷✨.
Delicious dishes, exceptional drinks, and a theatrical touch… it was truly a total work of art. 🎭💫

We had a very pleasant evening with my son at this restaurant. The setting is elegant yet relaxed, with a beautiful counter reminiscent of an omakase bar, allowing you to admire the precision and artistry of the staff at work.

The menu strikes a perfect balance between revisited classics—such as the duck pie—and refined dishes showcasing the chef’s technique. My two favorites were the grilled unagi and the delicately steamed fish, each paired with richly textured sauces that revealed both depth and the chef's background. Desserts were light and refreshing, a perfect conclusion to the meal. The menu is thoughtfully concise, allowing you to savor each dish without feeling overwhelmed.

A special mention goes to the sommelier, who curated an excellent selection of wines by the glass. We particularly enjoyed two Burgundy wines, standing apart from the usual big names.

All in all, a highly recommended dining experience—elegant atmosphere, precise cooking, and a sense of refined yet approachable hospitality. Merci Chef!

What a great experience where every dish is a thought provoker, in a good way! Came here for a special event and the chef in charge was new for the week (worked here but not normally the head chef). I loved the menu he put together and the story about each dish. The staff really put in the effort to ensure you understood what you were eating and the story behind it. The interior was beautiful and they even gave us a little surprise to take home. It was a special evening that I don’t think I’ll ever forgot. Also, don’t sleep on their sake bottle options. We shared a bottle of sparkling sake which was delicious and surprisingly went well with all the dishes. Definitely make a reservation beforehand!

I had a wonderful dinner last night with someone very special. As the evening began, the curtain of the open kitchen rose, and it felt like watching a Broadway musical, with the chefs moving dynamically on stage. The champagne and wine, carefully selected by a top-level sommelier, paired perfectly with the exquisite dishes. The Japanese owner-chef, a rare presence in New York, presented both creative cuisine and refined traditional French dishes. This is truly the best Michelin-starred restaurant to bring someone important to.

Dining at Restaurant Yuu feels a bit like stepping into an art gallery where the canvases happen to be edible—and occasionally perplexing. I went with friends, and while we didn’t all agree on every bite, we were unanimously awed by the experience.

The evening unfolds in acts. First, you’re presented with raw ingredients, each displayed like a still life: jewel-toned vegetables, gleaming seafood, marbled meat so pristine it could be under glass. Then, as if by magic—or meticulous choreography—they reappear transformed, reimagined, and plated with the precision of a Kyoto calligrapher.

Some of the flavor combinations danced on the edge of the unexpected—citrus where you didn’t expect citrus, bitterness where you wanted sweetness. Not every dish was a personal hit, but each one made you think, made you look, and sparked conversation. And isn’t that half the point?

The service was flawless. Attentive without hovering, warm without pretense. Each course was delivered with quiet confidence and just enough context to make you appreciate the technique, the sourcing, the whimsy.

A few bites were less “mmm” and more “huh,” but what Yuu offers isn’t a greatest-hits playlist—it’s a live concert, full of artistry, risk, and bravado.

Unforgettable? Absolutely. Delicious? Mostly. Worth it? Without question. Yuu is a meal to marvel at, to talk about, and maybe even to puzzle over on the ride home—and those are the ones that tend to stick.

Came with a party of 4 for a birthday celebration. The food did not disappoint — the dishes were inventive, excellently prepared (you can tell that these are chefs at the top of their game), with Japanesque-subtleties that make you ponder the flavours and textures in every bite.

Excellent beverage pairing (for me, a must at any top restaurant) with some of the most amazing pours I’ve had during a meal. Somm was great and the service staff were professional throughout.

This place is incredible and well deserving of its star (and stars to come). I will be coming again during my next visit to NYC. Thank you Yuu!!
