Absolutely beautiful spaces, wonderful small plates/charcuterie,and great service. A little pricey and the wine often tends more towards what’s trendy for my taste, but overall a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine with friends. It does get crowded and very loud when it’s crowded so make sure to get there early or find a space outside of the weather is nice.
This is one of my favorite places in New York. The staff is great and they have a drink for whatever ails you. That said, I have a cart full of drinks at home—I go to bars for the vibes, and the vibes here are immaculate.

I've been hesitant to leave this review because Rhodora Bar has always felt like a beloved local haunt to me, and I genuinely want to continue supporting it. However, my recent experiences have left me questioning whether the establishment truly values the support of all its patrons.
There's an employee who works there, Shawn or Shane, present on Thursday and Saturday nights. My encounters with him have pushed me to avoid visiting during those times due to his dismissive and, frankly, rude demeanor. Once, he insisted we rush our orders and even falsely claimed that no spirits are served after 9:30 pm, subsequently refusing service.
This concern goes beyond poor service; it's about respect and equality. As a Chinese American, and my friend being Black, it's hard not to notice the stark difference in how my white male partner is treated in comparison. My discomfort escalated last Thursday when I overheard this individual making derogatory and racist remarks about another staff member. This kind of behavior not only tarnishes the welcoming community vibe that Rhodora is known for but also suggests a potentially wider issue within management that allows this conduct to go unchecked.
Rhodora Bar, I cherish what you represent to our neighborhood, but it's imperative to address these issues. Everyone deserves to feel welcomed and valued, and it's disappointing to witness such contrasting treatment based on race. Please, let's do better.

Wish they had some more price friendly options for house wines. $16+ tip is a lol. I know there’s bottles out there that would fit the bill for this place. Hard to feel good about spending that and lining up for it. Atmosphere is great but the killer is the pricing.

I’ve been twice and I don’t think I’ve ever come across ruder staff. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be a bit, but it’s not landing.
Have always received annoyed vibes from the bartenders who also take your order and just came in for a nightcap and snack and had the worst interaction of all time with the bartender, conversation was- "hey I know it's late but is the kitchen still open?" "No" "even just for an order of bread" aggressive "no" I thought he was joking so I laughed and he said "get out, I said no twice". Unreal

favorite spot around, the wine selection is great, the relaxed vibe on willoughby is perfect. just don't come here hungry.. the food is great but the portions are small, unless you get the olives, then they give me fistfuls and I don't complain.
