Got a vanilla latte and was pleasantly surprised how delicious it was! You can see the flecks of real vanilla bean in the drink, and the taste is just as good. Also loved that they have gluten free lemon cake for us folks w allergies! The cafe runs warm bc there’s no AC, but there’s good airflow. The vibe feels like being in a different country so it’s kinda cool lol

Rita and Maria is far and away the best cafe in the neighborhood, with an incredible pastry selection baked in house every day, beautiful decor, and amazing coffee.
But the best feature is the wonderful staff, who are so kind to both new and old customers alike. They are always inviting people to their monthly events in the space, whether it be life drawing or readings by local writers.
So glad that I live nearby!

One con is that all the staff I’ve interacted with appear to be annoyed and unhappy. I have yet to experience eye contact, verbal cues, or a smile from anyone working here. I would love to hang out on their cute porch but feel like the vibe might be off.
