Roberta's has amazing food, but each time I go, it always feels so chaotic. Last night, I had a reservation for our family at Grinchy's, their seasonal pop-up. It's technically outdoors, but is marketed as fully enclosed and heated. Upon arrival, the space was freezing — we soon learned their propane tank had broken overnight. Unfortunately, they did nothing to accommodate our party (we had an 11-month-old with us) or any other party indoors. We were given two menus: the regular Roberta's menu and a special Grinchy's menu with themed mixed drinks and about six special dishes. When we ordered our drinks, a few chose beers and wine from the "main menu." After those were delivered, our server told us that, from now on, we could only order drinks from the Grinchy's menu. We ordered the specialty pizza from that menu, and about five minutes later, our server came back to tell us it was sold out, so we had to order from the main menu. It was all very confusing and cold, and our server kept telling us she didn't work at that location regularly, so she didn't know what was going on.
Fun, holiday-themed cocktails are to be had at Grinchy's, like the Feeld Nogg (egg nog and rum in a moose-shaped cup), and the decor was wonderfully cheery and over-the-top, but service was dismal. We waited about ten minutes near the entrance to be seated with zero updates and had to self-advocate and basically seat ourselves. Apart from ordering, I think staff checked in with us... once? At the end? 😂 The Sound & the Fiore was a bit bland as pizzas go, but still inventive. The tiramisu was fantastically creamy. A super mixed bag. Not my favorite visit here in my life.

Grinchy's is always cute and the food at Roberta's is good as always! We went on only the second night of the season so maybe they were working out some kinks but the service was pretty bad and it was SO hot in the patio under those heat lamps. Felt like a hot yoga class. So bring layers that you can take off!!

Everything was great and honestly it was a good time. The only issue we had was that our server kept forgetting about us. Never had an issue like this from Roberta's before, think this is a one off but I will still go back. The food is great!

Fabulous experience as usual! Was our first time doing the Grinch pop-up and it was so much fun!! The little gem salad is something we regularly crave and the special arriabata meatball pizza was fantastic. Service was attentive and friendly.
