I've been a customer of Sandy Beaches since it was branded a 'Golden Crust', but today will be my last visit. While the food is terrific, the service and atmosphere are terrible. The cashier, in the center/middle of the store, has decided to quarrel with her customers. She is beyond disrespectful and irate, and simply ruins the mood of could have been a decent experience. If this happened once - fine, twice - fine too, but three times? Its a pattern. The food is good, but the experience is not worth the humiliation of simply awful service. If I could give the service zero stars, I would. Again, good food / horrendous service (even for my Uber eats pick up). Yes, a simple pick up - became an event. Too many negative interactions here.

Some reviews have to be fake. The food was okay but the service was long, they make you pay for paper plates, and the staff gave us a hard time.

Sandy Beaches took over the old Golden Crust space on Lawrence Street in Downtown Brooklyn. I’ve been eating here since they changed over and the food is absolutely outstanding. The oxtails and accompanying rice and peas are intensely flavorful. I’ve also had their jerk pork, which was cooked to perfection. They offer lunch specials daily - I could literally eat the brown stew chicken sauce over rice every day for the rest of my life.Do yourself a favor. Try this oasis in an area that’s a Caribbean food desert.
The food was stale, I am surprised they haven't gotten a D from the Department of Health. The chicken was as hard as a rock. And then the rice was just a lot of grease .

I ordered the Curry Chicken w/ Rice and Peas. The rice was pretty good but the Chicken was not. I was excited as a fellow Jamaican; to find some good Jamaican food that I can share with my new co-workers in Brooklyn, this was not it for me.

The food is soooo soo so good but please stop with that Tower Islands BEEF PATTIE it's gross and ya'll really charging regular price for them $3.80...
They do make some delicious Curry in my opinion. Like any true Caribbean restaurant you know the ladies behind the counter if they give you attitude the food is going to be good.At the very same time all of the women behind the counter give you attitude whenever you're just trying to make a simple order. Go there at your own risk. The lunch special is about 10 to 15 bucks. Hopefully they like you this way they won't just give you sauce with bones.

oxtail is delicious BUT is rushed.there are bomb pieces and slightly rubbery pieces but that's the nature of oxtails. if you want heaven, let it sit in the fridge for a day to dry the sauce then microwave it. no rubbery just perfection. so glad I found this amazing place.

This has got to the worst Jamaican restaurant ever. They make restrictions on how you can order your food, how you telling me its 25 cent per plantain but I can only get 4..like huh? Then I can't get jerk sauce with JERK WINGS because they don't make enough...like huh? The light-skin tall big cashier is extremely rude and she better be careful before she faces the wrong person with her nasty attitude. Someone needs to call 311 to shut these people down.

This is the worst so-called carribean food I've ever taste the oxtail taste like rubber and the vegetables didn't cook but the rice was ok. You guys need to pay the chef or get another chef because this not it. Just so you know you'll never see me ever again.

Lunch special was so amazing that we had to go back the next day for breakfast. Roast pork and stew chicken was perfection. Veggies on the side with OMG PUMPKIN rice. The flavors were perfection. Breakfast ackee & saltfish…just delightful. Splurged on a red velvet cupcake and carrot cake. So much on the menu. Worth every penny (and the pricing is reasonable). Made muliple trip during my time in Downtown Brooklyn. The say best oxtails…it’s the truth.
I really do love me some Jamaican food and the food here is amazing. I highly recommend trying them out when you have a chance.
