6/ 12/2025 unfortunately this is the last time ill be ordering NEW Management is killing this place i bought a large mackerel today and the picture was what i served when i asked “why the portion is so small for a large” they replied “new management policy to reduce the amount giving” ill just do it at home at this point or when im in rush get a bacon egg and cheese because this is robbery!
I just left the restaurant where I wanted to place an order. When I called, they answered the phone but left it open for five whole minutes while they laughed in the background. I should note that I rang their phone twice before they finally answered, without any warning or hold music. After I hung up, I tried calling from my work phone, only to find that the line was busy—their phone must still have been off the hook. It’s been 30 minutes since then.
Also, their Bailey's cake, while incredibly tasty, is overpriced. $10 for a thin slice of cake is unreasonable! A small liter of Bailey's costs $22, and you only need half a cup for the buttercream and soaking. Given how thin the slice is, claiming the price is due to the Bailey's just doesn’t seem fair. I hope they listen to feedback and start cutting the cake a bit thicker.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Sandy Beaches. I went in for the curry chicken lunch special, which was clearly listed on the wall menu for $8.50, but was charged $10 instead. My coworker ordered two chicken soups, one of which was a large that was supposed to be $9, yet we were charged $13.50. The soup was also overpriced compared to what was posted.
When we politely questioned the price differences, the response from the staff was shockingly rude and dismissive. We were told, with no explanation or apology, that “the prices changed.” No updated menus, no signs indicating price changes — just blatant false advertising.
Between the inaccurate pricing, terrible customer service, and complete lack of accountability, this place is a hard NO. I would not recommend Sandy Beaches to anyone. There are plenty of better, more honest spots to eat.
This place is a JOKE. The line is long. I came for two chicken Pattie’s. On the big menu screen. It says $3.75 each. At the register. She charged me $10.14. I said. Look the screen says $3.75. The cashier said prices went up. Then I said you need to reflect it. I said by law you have to give me that price. She said I just work here. Listen the food is NOT that great for that price that service. And stupidity.
Delicious comfort food
I tried to ignore the chicken being pink but bloody is sooo nasty yall need to do better ill never come back here 🤢🤢
The corn meal porridge is delicious! Whilst the bake, salt fish and callaloo are the perfect balance without being overly salty. Fresh ingredients make it all worth while to take a detour before work❤️

I go here at least once a week. Their lunch specials are a great deal. So far I have gotten their Jerk Chicken, Jerk pork (my favorite lunch special), curry goat, and ox tail (not sure if they have a lunch special).

Very disappointed that I tried to order through door dash and there was no communication about issues with my order. Waited over an hour and had to cancel. Now here I am at work waiting to eat for over an hour and now have to find something else to eat and will still have to wait.
If your having issues fulfilling orders, please consider communicating that to your customer so they can make an informed decision.
One of the best oatmeal porridge.

I've been a customer of Sandy Beaches since it was branded a 'Golden Crust', but today will be my last visit. While the food is terrific, the service and atmosphere are terrible. The cashier, in the center/middle of the store, has decided to quarrel with her customers. She is beyond disrespectful and irate, and simply ruins the mood of could have been a decent experience. If this happened once - fine, twice - fine too, but three times? Its a pattern. The food is good, but the experience is not worth the humiliation of simply awful service. If I could give the service zero stars, I would. Again, good food / horrendous service (even for my Uber eats pick up). Yes, a simple pick up - became an event. Too many negative interactions here.

Some reviews have to be fake. The food was okay but the service was long, they make you pay for paper plates, and the staff gave us a hard time.

Sandy Beaches took over the old Golden Crust space on Lawrence Street in Downtown Brooklyn. I’ve been eating here since they changed over and the food is absolutely outstanding. The oxtails and accompanying rice and peas are intensely flavorful. I’ve also had their jerk pork, which was cooked to perfection. They offer lunch specials daily - I could literally eat the brown stew chicken sauce over rice every day for the rest of my life.Do yourself a favor. Try this oasis in an area that’s a Caribbean food desert.
The food was stale, I am surprised they haven't gotten a D from the Department of Health. The chicken was as hard as a rock. And then the rice was just a lot of grease .

I ordered the Curry Chicken w/ Rice and Peas. The rice was pretty good but the Chicken was not. I was excited as a fellow Jamaican; to find some good Jamaican food that I can share with my new co-workers in Brooklyn, this was not it for me.
