Breakfast burritos are one of my favorite foods, and this one was excellent! Highly recommend the potato option. Very sweet guy working too!

Response to owner:
That message is wildly inappropriate, unprofessional, and frankly shocking to receive from a business.
I don’t appreciate you inventing stories about my dog or my medical needs. At no point did I “offer” any such explanations — it seems your staff made assumptions and are now trying to retroactively justify their behavior. The two guests I was with are my witnesses. I don't suffer from anxiety and would never claim that as Teddy's task because it is not true, I suffer from Kounis Syndrome. Look it up.
What did happen is that I was treated with disrespect, spoken to dismissively, and then blamed for it. The fact that you’re now sending a message like this only proves the point.
A simple acknowledgment of the situation and an apology would have gone much further than attacking a customer. Please refrain from contacting me again unless it is to address this professionally. I will be filing a report with the ADA who Teddy has done campaigns since he is that trained. You should not be allowed to treat people with disabilities the way that you are publicly doing and I wonder how many other patrons you have caused distress to.
Teddy is a certified service dog trained to perform a medical task that requires him to stay close to my body — specifically on my lap — to monitor my heart. I told the staff this, and when they asked three times to place him on the floor, I explained he could not perform his task there. Under the ADA, service animals must be allowed to perform their tasks, and reasonable accommodations must be made as long as the dog does not touch food or other surfaces. Denying Teddy the ability to perform his work is potentially illegal, and I am happy to look into it.
The staff were not “sweet” as claimed — they were visibly stressed by their passive-aggressive owner monitoring the restaurant on the cameras and treated me horribly because of it. The owner’s claim that someone was sitting next to us and expressing discomfort is false; we were in the corner, and I can provide video proof if that’s the route he wants to go. Their behavior shows the problem starts at the top. This was a clear failure of both ADA compliance and basic professionalism. Do better, thanks!
Original Review:
I had a very disappointing experience at Sante Fe BK, and unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The staff was unusually tense and unfriendly from the moment we arrived, but things escalated quickly when it came to my service dog. I was told he had to remain on the floor, even though his trained service requires him to stay on my lap. I’ve brought him to countless restaurants, including Michelin-starred spots, and have never once encountered an issue like this.
At one point, a staff member — I believe the manager — told me the owners were watching us on the cameras. Because my dog was briefly moving around on the floor performing his task (sniffing for potential allergens), and I picked him up again as required, they informed us they were wrapping up our food and asking us to leave. Despite this, they still expected us to pay for entrées we never received. We declined and paid only for the drinks and appetizer.
It was an incredibly unpleasant and embarrassing situation, especially since I was dining with a friend who owns a restaurant and his pregnant partner and fully understands service dog regulations. This treatment was unnecessary, uninformed, and unacceptable. I truly hope they educate their staff and management on ADA-compliant service dog policies.
We ended up going to Mexi on N 9th and they were super friendly and welcoming to us and my service dog, Teddy.

We’ve been looking for good breakfast burritos in the area and came across Santa Fe BK. They have a couple options for breakfast burritos, we went with the potato one. The hashbrowns inside were crispy and delicious. The green chile was a great add as well for flavor. I wish there was a sauce we could dip it in, but overall it was a solid burrito. It tastes very similar to these amazing breakfast burritos we used to have in Denver called Santiago’s. We’ve been trying to find a place that closely replicates that and this has been the closest we’ve come

My husband and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a Second City improv show. We didn’t have reservations, but there was room for us at the very friendly, comfy bar. We had great service which was fast (to ensure we got to the show on time) and the green pork enchilada served with delicious rice and perfectly seasoned beans was excellent. Just a bit spicy / loaded with flavor.
We wish we lived in town so that we could eat here weekly!
Thanks for feeding us so well!

For breakfast, you order at the door, so you have to find a place elsewhere to eat, which delays your meal. Eating at a sit down place is more practical in that regard. Potato breakfast burrito is very filling and big enough.

Absolutely delicious potato breakfast burrito. It’s so simple but perfect — creamy eggs, crispy tots, and a delicious tortilla. I’ve tried a lot of the hyped up breakfast burrito spots and this one is my favorite.
Only thing that would make it better would be options to customize.
edit: tried the sausage breakfast burrito — which is simple ground/crumbled sausage and it would be much more flavorful with something like chorizo. The crumbled sausage burrito can’t beat the classic potato egg burrito.
As a New Mexican living in NYC it is SO hard to find food that reminds me of home!! But everything I tried at Santa Fe BK was amazing. The enchiladas, smothered burrito, green chile cheeseburger, green chile stew and sopapillas were all absolutely excellent. I will be back, probably weekly LOL

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere, the food, the staff, everything is top notch. Not to mention they have the best Mac n’ cheese in NYC and some of the best queso in the game. Don’t hesitate to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

We came with a group of friends and ended up leaving the restaurant in a rush. I felt like something was biting me, and when we got outside, I realized all my friends had the same experience our legs and ankles were covered in bites. It seems like there were fleas or some kind of insects, and one of my friends even had an allergic reaction. Definitely not a pleasant experience.
