Hello, it pains me to make a poor review but I’m having a hard time getting over how badly my family was treated by the staff. We visited this restaurant’s table at the street fair. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and I took the opportunity. They don’t advertise cash only outside, so I made my order and was stuck without tender. I sent my husband to go to a store to get Cash Back. We intended fully to pay for goods received. In the meanwhile, my daughter got crazy over trying a pretzel. I asked to add it to the order and they refused to serve it until my husband got back with the cash. Leaving me with a hangry and upset 4 year old. The staff were dismissive and rude. After paying for the food, my husband said it wasn’t worth the 9$ — extremely salty and tasted like cheap grocery store processed meat.
We approached nicely, well dressed and with good manners. Yet we were treated like we were thieves who were going to run away from our bill. I should note, I patiently waited by the table the whole time.
Really disappointing first experience. Had a date night with my girl, dropped the kid off at the babysitters. Went to wicked monk for fish and chips and beer, but due to their kitchen getting redone they had a limited menu and fish and chips was not on it. Called schnitzel Hauss and asked if they had fish and chips which they said yes, So we headed over. Sat down, ordered two beers, a house salad, a fried cheese thing, a pretzel, and two fish and chips all at the same time. While drinking the beers, she brought out the house salad ( def would not recommend), the pretzel( ehh, don’t think it was cooked through), and the fried cheese thing ( which was pretty good). Then comes back and tells us that they don’t have the fish and chips. I think it was pretty inconsiderate to bring out the salad and appetizer and not let us know that they don’t have the two mains we wanted, especially after calling prior to coming to make sure they had what we wanted.
Ps, the beer (bit burger ) was good, and she gave two more beers on the house. Left starving, and spent 55 bucks for what seemed like two beers and a small fried cheese thing.
Great spot to visit. The German food is about as authentic as you can find, and genuinely delicious. Huge menu, very easy to find something you'll enjoy. Great beers on tap, ranging from German classics to IPAs, and a very nice bottled selection as well. Bingo is a blast on Wednesday nights, and occasional trivia and karaoke are also great. I go regularly, and always have a great time.
This place was fantastic. Not only were the people amazing, but the good was delicious. And now I know the have bingo on Wednesday, what's not to love! Will definitely be back asap!
Schnitzel Haus is a cozy, welcoming gem that brings the heart of German and Austrian comfort food right to your table. From the moment you walk in, the rustic, beer hall-style atmosphere sets the tone—relaxed, friendly, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home.
The food is the real star here. Every dish feels like it was made from scratch with love, just like a home-cooked meal. The schnitzels are perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, and the variety of options—pork, chicken, even Jäger-style with mushroom gravy—means there’s something for everyone. Traditional sides like spätzle, sauerkraut, and potato salad are flavorful and satisfying, adding to that authentic European taste.
The beer selection is another major highlight. They offer an impressive range of German and Austrian brews, from crisp lagers to rich dunkels and hefeweizens, all served in proper steins that make the experience even more enjoyable. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to help you pick a beer to pair with your meal.
Whether you’re looking for a casual night out, a place to share a hearty meal with friends, or a little taste of Europe, Schnitzel Haus delivers every time. Highly recommended for anyone who loves traditional, filling food and a good beer in hand.
I love this place! We go there every Wednesday for their all you can eat $19. Buffet & of course their Bingo with Tommy eyebrows. Family owned and operated, the food is delicious! And the staff is super friendly! I highly recommend it!
Perfect for those in search of childishly unhinged staff, bad music, and mediocre food.
Place has great food and drinks. Held a party here, and the staff went above and beyond. Can't sing the places praises enough.
We were a party of 10 ,with hopeful expectations of good food, but to our surprise, great disappointment . After we all ordered our appetizers and drinks, it went downhill. First, some of the appetizers were overcooked. My dinner order was also overcooked. NO, I don't recommend this restaurant.
Update: after such a nasty response by the owner I highly doubt we will be back.
Good food, nice service but somewhat slow taking into account that there were no other customers at the restaurant. The place only accepts cash. Who carries so much cash with them these days? It was a big group of us and it was extremely annoying that we had to run to an ATM machine in order to pay for our meal. You can always add an option to use a credit card for additional fees instead of having your customers run to an ATM machine after having a meal or let them know ahead of time that this is a cash only place so they don't feel trapped.

Always good. Huge portions of yummy authentic German food. True Schnitzel Haus experience. Even if you never had German food, you have to try it.
The food was fine. No complaints there. However, PLEASE update your sign at your door and the info on Google that you are a CASH ONLY restaurant. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday and we were treating. No one told us when we sat down that it was cash only. My husband and I didn't have enough cash to pay the bill so our friend paid for her own birthday dinner because she happened to have cash that day!! We were so embarrassed and mortified. If you are a cash only restaurant, then let the patrons know in advance. That's all. I understand that credit card companies over charge restaurant with fees. I've supported many local businesses that are cash only and I BRING CASH IN ADVANCE! This is the sign you have up on your door today and the screen shot of your Google info page. Please change this.
Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. I've been to many German restaurants around NY and this is by far the best one. Big portions and very yummy
We went on a Wednesday night, bingo night! It was a riot, although we did not play. Not only fun, but the food was outstanding. The Farmer’s Wurst plate with five types of sausage, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes with three mustards, and the fresh cut thick fries and pretzel were all wonderful.
We have to especially point out the excellent service by the two wait staff who worked as a team, handled the whole full room with ease and grace
In a warm and welcoming and attentive manner.
We can’t wait to go back, and next time we’ll be playing bingo as well as eating solid, authentic German food.

Great place for beer and fun. But for dinner, go across the street.
