I was looking for a spot with indoor seating, AC, and Wi-Fi, and this place fit the bill. The bagel was tasty, though a little heavy on the cream cheese (easy enough to scrape some off), and the coffee was strong and flavorful.

The service was fine but felt impersonal—more like being treated as a number than a guest. A simple warm hello or smile can go a long way.

What stood out most was the cleanliness, or lack of it. Many tables were dirty, and the floor could’ve used a sweep, while staff were chatting about weekend plans instead of tidying up. It gave the impression that customer experience wasn’t the priority.

Overall, the food and coffee were good, but the atmosphere and service could use some improvement.

It's a big disappointment this local coffee shop that I have been supporting for years isn't regarding previous reviews (see below):

“The guy serving at 9.10am on Sunday July 6th needs to be fired. The worst service I have ever received. Stood there doodling instead of taking my order. You guys need to hire better people!”

“Every time the staff was rude, angry and unwelcoming.”

“Who ever hires the people who work there needs to either do a better job of interviewing or someone else needs to do the hiring. We are officially no longer coming here to buy anything. I advise any one else thinking of coming here to avoid it until they change their staff members or improve their service. Shocking and really disappointing.

“Is it against store policy here for employees to smile?”

I've worked as a barista and as cashier for coffee shops for years - I know what it feels like. I have empathy and compassion for this position. Every time I go into September the service is pretty abysmal. Especially the young tall man who permeates negativity. He really is the rudest individual I have ever met in the service industry! Buddy - please get a new job if you are suffering this much. Feel for you but you're in control of your life and if you hate working at September so much, you need to find something else and move on!

The staff is consistently unwelcoming. Be prepared to wait in a long line with no urgency, full complacency. It's such a beautiful space, so very well curated - but it doesn't balance out the negative energy x bad vibes.

There's a lot of kind, warm, welcoming neighborhood coffee shops to check out if you value supporting a coffee shop that is welcoming and provides basic human respect & service:
-Covert
-Bakery by Textbook
-Cup of Brooklyn
-Familiars

This place can get extremely busy if you just turn around and blink, which is a good sign.

The coffees are around $7-$8, and the pastries are between $5-6.

There are 10-12 spots to sit, with 4 outside.

The staff is friendly and consistent.

they have good matcha and good coffee. quality is nice and a good place to sit and vibe alone or with someone. i will say the staff isn’t super nice which is slightly off putting. not looking for over the top friendliness but just don’t enjoy ordering from someone who doesn’t seem they want to be talked to..

Coffee is excellent, place is beautiful, but staff looks tired and extremely unfriendly.
I was here 3 times past month I am staying in Bed-Stuy and every time the staff was rude, angry and unwelcoming. I understood from the attitude of the staff, that for some reason (bought coffee, left tip, was polite, smiled, did not stay longer then 30 minutes) I am not welcomed, so I won't be back.
I worked in a service industry, I understand how tiring it can be, but if I would have attitude like these ppl, I would be fired on the spot. Very strange to treat customers like enemies.
Too bad, otherwise this place is very nice.

Quickly ran in here for two breakfast sandwiches and a coffee on our way to the airport. It wasn't as quick as expected because everything is made freshly by a one-woman army in the open kitchen! It worked out fine for us and we made it to the airport on time. The egg and cheese sandwich was so flavorful and tasty! The tuna melt was good too. The latte was delicious and the staff were all so kind when we asked about local transportation advice :) It is also so cute inside, I wish we had time to sit and eat. 10/10!

It’s an average and busy neighborhood cafe. We came here for an early morning coffee, we had a cold brew and regular filtered coffee but the coffee -my filtered coffee- was sour and to be honest I didn’t like it! The place has a unique painted frames and they make fresh croissant. Nice music and good service.

This is my favourite coffee shop in the area, I live just around the corner and have been coming to get coffee here for the best part of the last year. The staff have changed over time and I have to be honest, the service is very hit and miss. There are only two women who work there that provide the correct level of hospitality. There is a gentleman that serves in there who is completely devoid of all emotion and will always lead with “what do you want” If the manager reads this can you please tell the young guy who works there that he needs to learn how to smile and have a positive outlook when working because he makes me not want to buy coffee when ever I see he is working. He doesn’t look happy to be there and I feel bad for the other people who work there that want to do a good job because he brings the place down massively. Either he needs hospitality training or he needs to find a job that makes him happy.

Honestly 9$ for a very average iced matcha with no sweeteners or syrup is kind of ridiculous. And your staff is very stressed and understaffed so they’re not able to have much to give in terms of good customer service. Kind of disappointed because it’s a cute spot in the neighborhood.
