My husband and I dine in this afternoon. The food was good n the meat was lean n good n tasty.
Then I order n tske out one for my son . It was DX.. 4 pcs of meat.
When we got home, we realized the food was totally different!! The meat were all FAT! The soup was extremely little.
Why it was so inconsistent on the food quality. It was like cheating!!! $18++ unfortunately I have only pictures of dining in. My son throw out the meat before I can take a picture.
I think the women were trained to only give quality n genuine food for dining in. As for take out..... they try to reduce whatever is necessary to cut cost n take customers for granted! Japanese owners n culture are not like that. The owner must be.......?????
Decent Ramen, But Basic Hospitality Lacking
The ramen here is fine, nothing remarkable, more like what you’d expect from a food court. However, what really surprised me was that they don’t offer even tap water. For a ramen restaurant, where a hot, salty dish is the focus, access to water feels like a basic necessity.
When I asked, I was directed to a bathroom fountain outside the restaurant. That’s not an appropriate alternative in a dining setting. Providing drinking water should be a fundamental part of hospitality in any restaurant. I hope they reconsider this policy.
Both my wife and I found the ramen delicious and the prices fair! I had the regular pork ramen and she had the veggie miso. I am not by any stretch an aficionado in Ramen, but even on a hot summer day we both left happy.
Very good ramen in a convenient location
Black garlic Tonktosu soup
For a food court, it's delicious ramen!
A perfect afternoon meal if you are in the area.
The noodle quality is not the best but the flavor of the broth and pork is top notch.
I would go for the deluxe next time so it has the egg!
I feel bad for all the negative comments this place gets so I thought I should leave my own experience here. I love their tsukemen, the noodles are always so chewy, and the broth so thick it clings on to the noodles in every bite. To people commenting on the broth being too oily… I have to say, this is how a lot of tonkotsu ramen is in Japan. I lived there for 6 years and have had my share of ramen, and this place tastes VERY authentic to me. Yes, the flavour profile is on the heavier side but that’s what I come here for. Small suggestion to the owner: maybe do what Ichiran does, and let clients choose how thick they want their broth to be? That way people who want authentic flavours can still get the thick heavy broth, while people who are not used to that or are just in the mood for something lighter can still get a bowl that suites their palate.
Wish they would consider using less plastic waste. No washable spoons available, only plastic. You are already washing dishes, why not provide reusable spoons rather than plastic only? Same with the chopsticks.
The vegan tantanmen was tasty. A relatively small portion considering the price but it's expected for NY I suppose.

Not as good as I remembered, not hot, just luke warm, and virtually no seating available on a busy weekend day. Disposable chopsticks, even for dining in.
Price raised since I last remembered but I have always loved Setagaya ramen. Had the black garlic tonkotsu and it was very good! Black garlic is a good addition to the rich tonkotsu broth, and the chasu is soft. Remember to return your bowl to the counter!

Veggie ramen is naaaaasty. Its judt garlicy, in not a good way, not like a nice subtle flavor but just garlic and nothing else. The tofu came in tiny piece for some reasom and then when you mix it in its like a gross kasha. Anyway, wouldnt order from here if youre a vegetarian. Maybe their meat options are good.
Vegetarian options: There are options but they arent good.
Although I’d love to keep this spot a secret, I can’t help but share that it’s my go-to place for enjoying ramen after work.
If you like smaller noodles, ask for thin noodles instead! It goes very well with the spicy miso ramen.

There are a lot of good ramen places in NYC. Unfortunately this isn’t one of them. The broth isn’t flavorful, the noodles were soggy. Staff ask for a tip but don’t even clean the tables, which were filthy.
