Delicious food, great staff, and cool vibe! Besides being yummy, the food had a unique slant so everyone can enjoy it!
Every dish was outstanding. Spicy dumplings, duck with sweet soy and pancakes, Dan Dan noodles
Soooo yum and our waiter was extremely accommodating

Unexpectedly delicious food with just superb seasonings/ flavouring in a nice setting and very willing service (but lacking in skill)

Lots of vegan options. Wait staff was kind- maybe TOO attentive? Overall, I liked Shan and will likely be back!
Food and cocktails were delicious, staff were so fantastic. Especially loved the dry pot. Only downside was we felt like the 4 seater tables/chairs were a little too tight for us to sit comfortably in and were pretty small people.

This is not ordinary Chinese-restaurant food; the dishes are sophisticated and delicious. Great combinations, spices, vegetables. Okra crunchy outside, soft inside. Eggplant hot and peppery, cold chicken chopped with bones in. Never had Szechuan like this. We try to go as often as we can.
I love and enjoy the food here. The service can be impeccable but it can also be very aggressive - removing the plates, asking if we want new plates, asking if we're done eating, trying to remove plates while Im actively eating, etc. - it can be overwhelming specially if you're in the middle of a conversation or on a date. Giving customers space to enjoy the food and slow down from their day is a missing factor.
Fabulous Szechuan food, served by attentive staff and the dishes came out quickly. Plenty of food and everything was delicious.

This is our go-to Chinese takeout place. Their food is always delicious, consistently. We pretty much sampled all of their dishes and they are all great!!! Thank you.

After a day of seeing the sights of New York (statue of liberty, world trade centre memorial, stock exchange, Brooklyn bridge,…..) we had dinner at Shan’s in Brooklyn and I must say it ranks in the same league as the other sights. After living in Sichuan for over 12 years I can honestly say the food is as authentic as I’ve had outside of Sichuan!! The flavours are exactly as I expect, the quality and service were first rate. The MaPu tofu is to die for as is the dumplings in chilli sauce. Looking forward to going back and trying more, another excuse to visit New York.

One of our favorite restaurants, Shan never disappoints! We've been here 10+ times.
Our go-tos are the dan dan noodles, scallion pancakes (so crispy!), lamb dry pot, and snow pea shoots. The wintermelon ice tea is delicious too although a little expensive.
We also tried the chongqing chicken (crispy and spicy) and szechuan wontons recently which were yummy too.
They do charge tip on the amount including tax for the preset percentages, which isn't great (usually I just do 20%).
