Smorgasburg in Williamsburg is one of the most exciting and fun outdoor food markets in New York City. From the moment you arrive, the energy hits you — colorful stalls, hungry crowds, the smell of delicious food in every direction, and Brooklyn’s skyline just beyond. It’s the kind of place that feels unmistakably NYC: diverse, creative, and full of flavor.

What makes Smorgasburg special is the variety. You can try everything from wood-fired pizza and gourmet tacos to handmade pastries, Asian-inspired bites, vegan comfort foods, and inventive desserts you didn’t even know existed. Every vendor brings something different to the table, and every few steps gives you a new taste sensation. I loved being able to sample small bites from multiple vendors in one visit — it’s like a food adventure in one space.

The outdoor setup adds a vibrant, social atmosphere. People grab picnic tables, friends share food, live music often plays nearby, and the mood feels casual and joyful. It’s a perfect spot to hang out with friends, go on a food date, or simply stroll and snack your way through the offerings.

A few practical notes:

Go hungry! Portions are generous, and there’s so much to try.

Arrive early if you want the most variety — popular vendors can sell out.

Bring cash or card — most vendors accept both, but it’s good to be prepared.

The location in Williamsburg also means you’re surrounded by shops, bars, and cafes, so it’s easy to turn Smorgasburg into a full day-out experience.

Overall, Smorgasburg Williamsburg is a must-visit for food lovers in NYC — diverse eats, amazing atmosphere, and a truly memorable culinary adventure.

This experience is not what it used to be. Overpriced food vendors and massive crowds of people with little space to eat or even move.

Don’t come here! You’ll get mediocre food and light fire to your hard earned money very quickly. For example $10 + tax for plain fries + $1 for ketchup…for real! $22 for a few small skewers of meat….$12 for 2 very small “artisanal” donuts….$10 for a boba drink….all in the blazing hot sun with no areas with shade to stop and eat. You are much better off going to a restaurant where you will get way better food for much less money and have a comfortable seat. What a disappointment!
