Steve's Original Jerk Chicken

I came across Steve’s original jerk chicken summer time. I was walking in the area and the aroma from his jerk chicken took me by surprise it reminded me of being back home. I immediately followed my nose & it brought me to 49th & church. I walked in & was immediately greeted by the owner with impeccable customer service. I order the jerk chicken (small) , pumpkin rice, & some steam veggies on the side. Very much affordable I would even pay extra cause the food was that AMAZING! The jerk chicken was seasoned very well down to the bone, spicy but just the right spicy. Very crispy but the meat on the inside was tender omgosshhh & the grill taste *chef kisses* i topped it with bbq sauce & let’s just say the sauce didn’t disappoint I bought extra of course. After my first experience I have order from here numerous times. I’ve had jerk chicken before & never like this! It’s like he brought the original jerk chicken recipe from home to Bk so amazing! *I’ll add photos on my next order*

Steve’s Jerk Chicken is THE PLACE to go for a delicious meal & consistently friendly customer service in Brooklyn!

I was visiting Brooklyn because my Jamaican mother was in the hospital for surgery. This also meant that I wasn’t getting my mother’s delicious home cooking.

After leaving Kings County hospital I parked and walked the area of Church & Utica in search of great Jamaican food.

Three of the restaurants I walked into were either not friendly or their menu wasn’t visible. Kept walking and smelled the jerk smoke from Steve’s jerk chicken pan around the corner.

Went in and got a warm welcome from Steve and the staff and that was the beginning of SEVERAL trips to Steve’s Jerk Chicken at all times of the day.

I didn’t patronize any other restaurants after finding Steve’s Jerk Chicken and brought several friends to enjoy the food. The soups are delicious and everything ordered was off the charts.

We drove across Brooklyn passing countless restaurants & risked getting a parking ticket just to enjoy Steve’s food plus their outstanding and attentive customer service from Steve Cooper or Teresa Cooper.

If I’m going to spend money with a restaurant the food must always be delicious and service with a friendly smile makes a huge difference.

Steve’s cooking replaced my Jamaican mother’s cooking for several weeks and months so I’m happy I found Steve’s Jerk by walking around the corner.

All my friends who came from out of town enjoyed their meals from Steve’s Jerk Chicken and swore they would definitely go out of their way for a return visit to Steve’s Jerk Chicken.

The greatest compliment is repeat visits and multiple referrals to a great eatery and Steve was that for me and my friends!

Unfortunately Mommy passed away so when in Brooklyn I’ll definitely continue to stop in at Steve’s Jerk Chicken for a guaranteed delicious meal & large soup every time!

You too won’t ever be disappointed! Enjoy! It’s worth the trip.

The only good thing about this place is that the food was delivered on time .I don't know what other people ate but mine was uneatable. I got scraps of jerk chicken ..real burnt scraps .I found what I believe were the leg boned without anything on it and two backbones .

The entire top of the mac and cheese was so hard I figured I'd turn it over and eat from the bottom ..there was no bottom . I had to pick apart bits of it to eat anything . I will
send pics if I can
And also ordered the plantain ..! none never again!

My first visit I had 3 orders of Jerk Chicken me and my family loved it. If you don't see ahh grill outside it's not really jerk. The Grill was outside the restaurant. 👍👍👍♥️💯

Outstanding! A gem in Providencia, its specialty BBQ meats, classic jerk. Family company, friendly and careful service. The place is rustic, basic, but the food and attention pay for the visit!!

Shout out to the owner! I used the 'to good to go' app to order from their store and it was cancelled by the owner and I didn't get notified in time so I went anyway. They ended up not only refunded me but giving the food for free. Not only was he considerate but the food is great!Jerk chicken could be a little spicier but the seasoning is good and he added gravy so it wasn't dry. PLUS he gave me festival, which was delicious. I ordered take out from the friendly and beautiful Theresa, who is the sister of the owner Steve. Of course I had the jerk chicken. Theresa suggested the cabbage, which made a good combination, along with the white rice and plantains. She also packed the sauces (barbecue sauce and very hot sauce) separately. Everything was delicious. There is a grill outside where the jerk chicken is cooked, so any time of the day that you order, it is always fresh. I cannot wait to go back the next time I am in the area.

Love love love this jerk, its the best I've had. The service is always so polite and the chicken is always juicy! The pumpkin rice and macaroni salad make a great pairing.
