Walking in here reminds me of my childhood bakery in Los Angeles, Shwartz bakery. Has an "old look" to it and has a nice variety of cakes and small pastries. I tried the various flavored Hamentshen and was delicious. Will be back again to try the other pastries.
Challah and some other things were great but the chocolate white powdered ragelach were so stale it’s shocking they’d even sell them. Get rid of stale stuff before you sell it!!
I am a huge fan of the cookies here. The rainbow cookies are phenomenal and they get the colors just right which as everyone knows is a big part of the rainbow cookie rubric. I don’t need to list other individual items because you really can’t go wrong. The staff behind the counter is patient and helpful and I couldn’t imagine a trip to Borough Park without stopping at Strauss!
