Sugar'd for Valentines Day was SALT! Two and a half hour wait time for food. No water or snack to hold you over while you wait. Music was set to club levels in the back, had to shout over table to talk at some points ruining the ambiance. No checks ins by the waiters until after food was served. Valentines prefix menu was a nice idea, but the desert was shared and barely enough for a child and the mandatory gratuity after terrible service felt like highway robbery. Unfortunately the systems and service did not rise to the level of the food. Disappointing.

Sugardbk is such a gem in Flatbush. The vibe was perfect great music, nice atmosphere, and definitely a good spot for date night or even private events. We started with the sweet chili shrimp, wings, and crab cake and everything was flavorful and fresh. For the main dishes, the snapper with shrimp, rice and peas was cooked perfectly, and the oxtails were tender and seasoned so well. The drinks are strong, and the sorrel cake was a perfect dessert to end the night. Amazing Caribbean food and service I’ll definitely be back!

Great music choice, it did make talking a bit hard to hear but DJ really knows his stuff.
Saw the vision for the menu, however the food was lackluster. Not horrible but very middle road with potenial.
Salmon was great but the tamarind sauce tasted more like sweet BBQ. Oxtail was okay. The drink are a big yes, the Blackberry Mint Tulip tasted great!

The ambiance is nice and the food is good my issue is with the service
Took my 14 yr old son to treat him to a birthday dinner , he placed our order and we waited for it to be brought to us. The drinks were non alcoholic pina colada that were served in glasses , the appetizer were brought out after and the waiter accidentally knocked the entire drink into my son's lap. He had on a brand new Nike black track suit and the drink was a milky drink added to this the glass was broken and fell over him and the table .
I cleaned my son up as best as I could and we were relocated to another table and apologized to. We ordered a drink each an appetizer each and dinner meal each and he wanted cake obviously for his desert . My son is one who don't like loud scene and is easily embarrassed , he begged me not to act up and I obliged as it was his birthday and I didn't want to spoil the day.
As we left in the 10* weather ( yes it was the night before the big storm ) my son tried putting on his gloves only to realize that his hand had gotten cut from the glass he also complained of his legs being cold and splinters in his shoe... we would only know of this after the fact of leaving because we sat for the entire time. We live a few blocks from there so we walked home and I called the store and asked for the manager.
I reiterated all that transpired to him and he said he was aware that a drink was spilled but not the details of the spill ... I asked him now that he is aware what can be done because this was a place that was recommended to me . He proceeded to say that I already paid and he can't retract the payment so I can come again with my son and he can get a complimentary dessert or appetizer. I was pissed at this time because it's not about the money it's about the principle involved . I said to him you charged us for every single item including the drink you spill on him as well as a 20% gratuity for the horrible service the least you should have done was to waived my son's meal .
It was his birthday - you ruined his new outfit - he got injured on his hand from your broken glass that your worker broke and he had splinters in his shoe and wet clothes to walk through very cold temperatures. It's was A TOTALLY HORRIBLE WAY TO TREAT A FIRST TIME PATRON WHO BROUGHT HER CHILD TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY . I was told the owner of the store would call and it has been a week now and Charmaine has not reached out to make amends or address this ... UNACCEPTABLE for you as a BLk owned business to treat the community patrons who support you. The manager at the time which is her son is rude and dismissive with no empathy or consideration... totally unconcerned and nonchalant acting like he is busy while I'm trying to explain logic to him ... DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE! ….HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

It’s a local gem with great food, amazing drinks, fun atmosphere and upscale decor. Perfect place to grab drinks with a friend or weekday date. It’s super fun for brunch and for a birthday dinner. I love their shrimp tacos

So their appetizer are finger foods wings tacos and no wet wipes for hands your hands sticky right through... waiters have no manners we walked in no one at the door to ask if we want to be seated or sit at the bar. They need to do better for the price they want to charge especially when you want to automatically want to add gratuity to your bill...when you go to trinidad restaurant if they have no reason to work for a tip they act they doing you a favor. I will not be revisiting but I know them so well their answer will be who cares

Honestly, it’s such a gorgeous place to enjoy cocktails and a quick bite. It is on the pricier side for a casual meal, but for a celebratory moment it’s absolutely worth it. I’ve visited a few times, and if you’re looking for a Caribbean night out, this is definitely the place to be.

I’m here for the desserts! Wow! Each one is pure, unfiltered decadence—dangerously addictive and absolutely obscene in the best way.

Service was good. Good was good but whatever they used for flavor was too sugary so basically most things tasted similar. However, the crab appetizer was amazing.
