Sugarfish won me over! As a sushi newbie, I wasn't sure what to expect, but their sushi exceeded my expectations. Great location, top-notch service, and the no-tip policy is a nice touch. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in NYC – highly recommend!

Sugarfish is by far my favorite sushi spot that I’ve been to in NYC. I have been to all but one of the locations and they are consistent regardless of which location I choose.

To me, sushi is about texture, temperature, and flavor. All of these notes are recognized by the chefs and these qualities are absolutely perfect with their servings and attention to detail.

This time I had the Nozawa trust me and it did not disappoint!

If you have not yet been to Sugarfish you are missing out!

I came in expecting more. The quality of the ingredients was good, but the sushi was assembled horribly. The rice would fall apart as soon as you dip it in the soy sauce. Flavors on certain pieces were very nice. While the servers were good and did their best, everything came very slowly. The restaurant wasn't overly busy and there seemed to be enough staff at the front of house. Everything is fairly priced for what you're getting. Average at best I wouldn't come back.

Just a terrible restaurant. Did not protect its own patrons when they were being harassed by others.

Classic takeout, but wish their rice integrity was better

The food took 3 hours to be prepared. By the time it was ready, it was fine. We had heard great things about sugar fish, but this wasn’t a great experience. We’d try it again in the future.

How do you screw up sushi rice so badly and stay in business? Every piece of sushi we had completely fell apart. Fish was good quality but by god they don’t understand the rice

The food is very good and the prices are ok but just the most ordinary experience. A place to go to for a good sushi and nothing more

The worst sushi ever. I got sushi Togo no rolls, the sushi didn’t hold up, rice falling apart and you can’t hold it or dip it. It’s a mess to eat, what is even worse there were two fish scales in one piece of sushi. I feel like the fish were no handled well. $80 for this it’s ridiculous.
Plus, the host was kinda rude while we wait for the pickup in the bench area.

This is my favorite sushi spot. Since I visit frequently, I made sure I registered every time. They have a birthday reward program.

Well, my recent birthday visit was well worth registering. The gift was a surprisingly super generous complimentary meal. It made my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️

As always, the sushi is fresh, delicious and the rice is the best!

Sugarfish is always a hit. I love the simplicity of the rolls and how every server I’ve had understand what celiac disease is and knows how to help me have a safe and delicious meal as a gluten free customer. I do wish they had GF soy sauce or tamari but luckily the sushi is good enough that it’s a want, not a need.

PS - we also had Jack as our server and he was fine, not grumpy at all.

Sugarfish never misses. The quality is consistently excellent, and the value is honestly hard to beat for sushi of this caliber. Every piece is fresh, simple, and perfectly prepared — no frills, just really, really good sushi.

It’s the kind of place you can count on every time, which is why we keep coming back. The staff is always friendly and efficient, and the experience feels polished without being over-the-top. Their Nigori sake is our favorite and at a very reasonable price, not big city price.

If you’re craving great sushi without the high price tag, Sugarfish hits the sweet spot every time. Thank you!
