Hands-down, the best tiki in NYC. If you are an authentic follower, then this is your only Stop. Gracious service. Great drinks. Amazing atmosphere. Worth the wait.

Pretty much everything you’d look for in a tiki bar: delicious drinks, good rums, cool decor, good vibes, bit goofy. Kind of a pain to get in given the limited seatings, but I do find it to be worth the trip.

We waited about an hour while having dinner and drinks before the manager came over, seemingly out of nowhere, to tell us we were removed from the waiting list. I would never suggest going here.
Ever wanted to drink in an old pirate ship but can’t make it out to Anaheim, Phoenix or San Fran? Sunken Harbor is for you. Seriously though, we finally made the pilgrimage to SH in Brooklyn, last week, and couldn’t have been happier.
We arrived just as the place was opening and realized that we might be in for a wait as there was already a line waiting to get into the hidden bar. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and they took our number and told us to expect an hour wait. Nobody batted an eye when we took up refuge in the corner (it was cold outside), and we were greeted with a text telling us our table was ready about 40 minutes after check in.
The bar is located above another fancy restaurant and holds maybe 35-40 people max. The whole place is designed like an old ship, with tons of amazing woodwork and nautical stylings.
Even though the place eschews the term tiki, you know you are in the right place when you see the Tiki Ti and Frankies Tiki Room stickers behind the bar. Speaking, of the bar, drinks were flawless. I had a traditional mai tai and it was a perfect melding of rum and sweetness, without the oppressive taste of cheap liquor. I didn’t have the food, as we were not able to stay too long, but they had an impressive menu of apps.
Sadly, there were no mugs available for sale, but they did offer some fancy zombie and Mai tai glasses, as well as pins.
I know Brooklyn is a haul, but we were able to find free street parking on a Saturday night,
Highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a perfectly made cocktail in NYC.

Fantastic atmosphere and excellent drinks. Easily the best tiki/tropical spot I’ve come across in the northeast. I highly recommend splitting a sunken skull, which is a fun and theatrical communal drink. The miso butterscotch pudding is also delicious and absolutely worth trying.

This place sucks. They won't let you in the bar if your party is incomplete and EVEN if your full party is there, you must wait at least 30 minutes! They put me on the list and NEVER messaged me letting me know if there was a table. And all of this was on a Tuesday. No bar is worth this much hassle. Also the people who work there are rude and obnoxious. They act like they are doing you a favor by even talking to you.

Door person communicated erratically and than blames you for how long you’ve been waiting. Waited an hour and ate dinner for a table that was never going to be available. Just TELL me you can’t accommodate instead of slow rolling. I’ll come back another day. Now I’ll never come back

Had such an amazing time at Sunken Harbor. Everything was amazing from the drinks to the atmosphere. Tommy and Carlos were incredible bartenders and fun to chat with while watching them work. Couldn't recommend SHC enough.

Terrific nautical tiki bar with a flare for presentation. The setting gives way to a relaxed atmosphere perfect for any small group. The attention to detail throughout the bar hints at the quality of what is to come.
All the drinks are immaculate in preparation & presentation, and will leave you feeling like you've just come ashore after a long trip adrift

I was really looking forward to coming here as it was rated one of the best in the area. Being home to some amazing tiki bars in California, we were excited to have some on the east coast. We traveled all day to come here. It's first come first serve and we came on a Monday at 4:30pm to wait in line, there wasn't any problem getting in. While I enjoyed the ambience, and detailed decor reminding me of Smugglers cove and Trader Sam's back home, the service wasn't good. The hostess and waitress weren't very pleasant. I observed how Shannon treated club members and it was night and day to how we were, so that was a bummer. Our first round of drinks were so so but the jet pilot and shattered skull for 2 were our favorites. I would come back again and maybe sit at the bar that's usually the most fun to interact with the bartenders
