One of the best bakeries, with great quality products for reasonable prices. Fresh and tasty, everything we could wish for. It was also easy to place larger orders in advance.

$6.95 for babka in 2025, amazing. So big it feeds a family of 4. Cute spot, offers coffee. An OG in the polish immigrant world, so this feeds the community. Every cake is massive, like 6 inch width and 11 inch diameter.

Long way times and no way to order ahead. They will give you the runaround like you can call the number on the receipt, but it’s the number to a home office that does not take orders.

If you’re searching for something real—something that tastes like tradition, like care, like Europe before it was rushed—this Polish bakery is where you’ll find it. Every bite feels like home, even if you’ve never stepped foot in Kraków or Warsaw.
The bread? Still warm, with a crust that sings when you tap it and a soft interior that humbles every supermarket loaf. The pastries are not just sweet—they’re stories folded in layers: buttery, flaky, filled with rich poppy seeds, fresh berries, or farmer’s cheese that melts like a memory.
There’s nothing artificial here. Nothing rushed. Just recipes handed down, probably whispered, and perfected by hands that remember how it was done before shortcuts existed. If you’ve ever had a grandmother who baked, you’ll understand. And if you haven’t—you’ll finally know what it’s supposed to taste like.
This is not just a bakery. It’s a quiet rebellion against bland. A little corner of Europe where time slows down, and flavor means something again.

Syrena bakery advertises rhat the bakery is PEANUT & TREE-NUT FREE,however I purchased a loaf of Rye bread and on the warning on the back read: made in a facility that processes tree-nuts,peanuts,almonds,etc That is not nut-free. My son could not eat anything I purchased at the store from Syrena Bakery .

Their many employees ignored me for a while but it was the best [and cheapest| bagel of my life once I got it.
There is no seating inside but it’s near the park.
These people don’t speak English yet they feel the privilege like they can be racist with people. I greeted them like 3x to be acknowledged waiting and waiting to be attended but other people walk in and they go to them asap. Hilarious. I finally decide to confront them and their response: I don’t know what you want. What a nasty way to start a Monday morning! Also we’re in Brooklyn not your country shameless people. I’m just glad I didn’t spend a nickel here.
Man this place rocks- they made a custom bday cake that was beautifully decorated and delicious. Traditional Polish desserts and pastries- the sweetest staff. couldn’t recommend this local small business more
