Joel, the first bartender, was truly incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely on top of everything. Unfortunately, the experience completely fell apart when the bar staff changed over. The red-haired bartender who took over was shockingly rude and made it very clear she did not want to be there. I waited more than 15 minutes for a single drink while she ignored me and focused only on service-well orders. When she finally rang it in, she charged full price even though it was still happy hour, with no courtesy mention that HH was ending or asking if I wanted to order anything else beforehand.
When I politely asked for a supervisor, she said she was the supervisor, instantly became confrontational, and told me she was “not comfortable” with me — then refused to give her name so I could report the issue. After that, several staff members openly gossiped about me at the bar, making the entire environment uncomfortable and unprofessional.
The food deserves 5 stars, but the customer service was a 0. One of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had, and I won’t be returning. There are far better options in the area where guests are treated with basic respect.

Decided to take my Grandma, By far a really great place to eat, BUT Don’t come here at opening!
The waitress there (today at least) was terrible with customer service… really love this place but today’s experience made it horrible. Thank You

This location is superior to the one on the upper East Side of Manhattan. The burritos were delicious and filling, tacos were tasty and the frozen Pina colada was just sweet and strong enough for a treat. The service was friendly and efficient. Will go there again for sure.

They sadly changed the burritos for the worst
It’s just a normal Tacombi for basic Mexican fare. Good for a quick bite when you’re in the neighborhood or before a show or movie at BAM.

I’ve been coming here for years for a quick bite before a show at BAM across the street but I realized last night it was also convenient if you’re going to Brooklyn Paramount that’s also around the corner.
The food is always on point, the service is quick and the tacos are muy delicioso (pardon my Spanish). I always get the crispy fish tacos which are perfectly fried and battered, a michelada with Modelo and the fresh made guacamole but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Get a reservation though because they are known to book up when there’s a show going on!

My entire pick up order was completely inedible except for a small plain cheese quesadilla. Ribeye tacos with meat as dried out as beef jerky but with far less taste, no seasoning or sauce, truly- inedible. Guacamole made with extremely unripe avocados- inedible. No salsa or pico served with the quesadilla. So I spent over $30 for some Oaxaca cheese inside a small flour tortilla. Loyal customer of the Nolita location since it opened. Clearly the wide expansion of the restaurants has caused the food to go way way downhill. It’s a shame:

Even though the owners haven’t kept up with painting and all the little bits that make you feel like they care for the restaurant since they opened it, this Tacombi is a great spot because of staff, like Emma, and the team in the kitchen. Cranking out some of the best Mexican food in this area. As a neighbor, we love y’all. Thank you for doing what you do.

Went here for a quick bite and got the Baja fish burrito. It was dry and there were barely any rice and beans inside just the fried fish which didn’t taste good. They didn’t have any salad verde despite the description so I had to ask for it on the side since the burrito was so dry. The service was good, our server was attentive despite the crowd. However, the burrito was pretty mid

Tacombi in downtown Brooklyn is one of those spots that immediately draws you in with its vibrant atmosphere and inviting setting. The décor has a fun, casual vibe with a distinctly Mexican flair, making it an enjoyable place to sit back and share a meal with friends. Its location is also a big plus—easily accessible and surrounded by the lively energy that makes Brooklyn dining such a great experience. On the service side, the staff is attentive and welcoming, which definitely adds to the overall positive impression.
That said, when it comes to the food itself, there’s room for improvement. The portions are fair for the price, which I do appreciate. It doesn’t feel like you’re being shorted, and value-wise it lines up with what you’d expect in the area. However, the flavors don’t quite deliver on the same level as the atmosphere and service. While the tacos and other dishes look appealing and are plated nicely, the taste can feel a little underwhelming—missing some of the depth and punch you might anticipate from authentic Mexican street-style food. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out enough to make me crave coming back solely for the food.
Another point worth mentioning is the drink selection. Tacombi only offers Lupita sodas, which feels limiting. While Lupita may be their in-house brand, it almost comes across as being pushed onto customers since there aren’t other soda options available. If you’re not a fan of Lupita’s particular flavor profile, that leaves you with little choice, which takes away from the overall dining flexibility.
All in all, Tacombi has great potential. With its charming setting, convenient location, and solid service, it sets high expectations. If the food’s flavors were elevated to match the rest of the experience, it could easily become a go-to spot. For now, it sits at a solid three stars.

REALLY bad service here. The waitress practically dropped my lunch on the table while scowling at me, never brought salsa, had to be called over to fulfill any requests rather than proactively checking on me. I’ve had similar experiences in this branch, though never this bad, despite having great experiences in the Williamsburg & west village branches. Had a miserable time here.
