Ever since this spot has come under new ownership it has become an absolute staple of Brooklyn, and the only place I’ll get Turkish food. As a resident of Istanbul for three years and New York for over a decade you know when something is the real deal, and everything on this menu holds its own. Add the genuine service and this takes one of my top three restaurants in New York city. (Would have taken a photo but I got too excited)
My partner and went there after 9 p.m. which means end of the shift and that the staff could feel ready to go home. In this case, the staff looked a bit distracted when we arrived but when the owner entered the restaurant he paid attention and nicely explained to us about the different dishes. Honestly, I didn't understand well what we were going to get, but we trusted his recommendations and that of another customer who had entered the restaurant and who seemed a regular...
