Taku Sando elevates the simple delight of a tamago sandwich to an art form. My online order of a tamago sando was prepared ahead of the expected time, a pleasant surprise indeed. The milk bread enveloping the filling was exceptionally soft, offering a delicate contrast to the subtly flavored, creamy tamago. This dish is a testament to the power of quality ingredients and culinary finesse. A must-try for those who appreciate refined simplicity.

Speed biked here, just before closing, so we could get our hands on their sandwiches. Initially we thought we’d be able to get their Ramen sandwich but unfortunately that was a one time thing. However, these two, were still so delicious! ?

Right now, ASAP, put Taku Sando in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on your must try list! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The staff is incredibly accommodating; they even treated us to a free egg salad Sando because they made an extra! What a delightful surprise!

Now, let's talk about the food—specifically, the Chicken Katsu Sando. The bread is simply perfect; it's soft and pillowy, creating an ideal base for the delicious fillings. The chicken cutlet inside was fried to perfection—so tender and juicy, it didn't have a hint of dryness. Every bite was a heavenly experience!

Accompanying the sandwich were potato chips with sriracha ketchup, and they blew me away! Lightly fried, these chips were far from greasy, allowing the fresh potato flavor to shine through. The sriracha ketchup added just the right kick, making them irresistible.

To top it all off, the backyard area is a fantastic spot to hang out with friends. The cute fire pits create a cozy ambiance that's perfect for enjoying food and conversation. Whether you're dining in or taking out, Taku Sando is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back!

The wait time on weekends is extremely long. 30+ minute wait time is simply too long for a to-go sandwich order, especially with little kids in tow. It would be great to inform customers at the time of ordering if store is aware of the backed up wait time and we probably would have gone elsewhere to feed the little ones. Food is great but after waiting so long we couldn’t enjoy it to its fullest. Unfortunate experience.

delicious, well-prepared, served with a smile.

yes, as others have commented their sandwiches are not inexpensive, but they seem to bake their own shokupan/milk bread (very fuwa fuwa) and the location is super easy to find (near the west end of greenpoint ave) so if you are craving a japanese-style egg salad sandwich, this is probably the best option in a several mile radius <3

The best sandos! I stumbled upon this shop but the sandos here were way more delicious than those from more well-known, well-reviewed places. Plus the portions were generous, American-sized! The staff was friendly and the interior felt cozy and warm… wish I didn’t need to grab and go!

So the pork katsu sando was good (and massive portion to me) but the meat was a little tough and wasn't as pleasant to bite through. Not sure if the meat needs to be tenderized more or maybe it was slightly overcooked. I will try the chicken one next time. The fries portion is huge so I do recommend sharing between 2 people. I went at opening so the atmosphere was super calm and relaxed and I loved the outdoor back patio. Love the japanese minimalist yet homey styling. Service was also great with all the staff pleasant to interact with. Will definitely be back. It's not cheap but I do think it is worth it. Can definitely split a sandwich between 2 people or take home half. If it ends up being smaller you can always order a fresh 2nd one.

Painfully mediocre for its price point. Nothing particularly stood out. The piece of pork I got was really thin and dry. Cabbage was also drying out the sandwich, which couldve been countered if there was enough sauce, but I literally got one bite of what I believe shouldve been the mustard. I'm not picky at all, but a $17 price tag is absurd. I wouldn't have any complaints if it were $8.

I imagine it's only surviving based on the gentrified clientele who want a desire to feel cultured. I wouldn't return.

Great flavor, fair portion for the price, just be aware, the sandwich falls apart very easily due to soft bread, don’t take it to the park and suffer like I did. Otherwise will be back when I crave chicken katsu

Amaaaazing pork katsu sando, probably the best I’ve had-and yeah not necessarily cheap at $16 but hey nothing in NY is-and for this quality I’d definitely come back.
