They charged a $20 per person cover just to get inside because it was UFC night. No bar in NYC charges a fee just for streaming an event. On top of that, they automatically add a 20% “service fee,” which they clearly treat as a tip—but it’s ridiculous when there was no actual service. A single $20 beer ended up costing $33.
I wouldn’t mind paying that if the service was good, but there was no service at all—you had to stand up, order at the bar yourself, pick up your own drink, and carry it back to the table. So why charge a service fee if no one serves you?
The burger was a 3/10. Overall, not worth it. I don’t recommend this place—better to pass.

Came to Tap Beer NYC with a group of friends. We were seated, placed our orders, and the server even took our card — but not a single word about any sort of fee or cover.
Then out of nowhere, 20 minutes later, someone comes over and says there’s a $20 charge per person just because they had a UFC fight on in the background. Seriously?
There were no signs, no mention when we walked in, nothing from the waitress. We felt totally blindsided. We refused to pay and left.
Feels like a scammy operation — something you’d expect from a shady tourist trap, not a legit bar. Never going back.

We walked into Tap Beer NYC as a group of 5, ordered food and drinks, and the waitress took a credit card — never said a word about any cover charge.
20 minutes later, a staff member tells us we need to pay $20 per person because of a UFC fight on some TVs. No signs, no heads-up, nothing.
Total bait-and-switch scam — classic Russian-style shady bar move. We walked out.
Avoid this place unless you enjoy being tricked out of your money.

This bar offers a variety of beers in multiple sizes—500ml, 1L, and 1.5L—which makes it easy to share a few different options with friends. You can even grab chilled glasses and your choice of spiced or plain pistachios to go along. The selection was decent, and we visited during Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
However, despite the sports-themed promise, the venue lacked atmosphere. Only a few tables were occupied, and the vibe leaned more toward a quiet bar than a buzzing game night spot. It’s not bad for a low-key drink, but don’t expect the energy of a true sports bar.

They tried to charge us 20$ per person to stay inside claiming this is UFC night , it is ridiculous I have been to many bars and venue but this was the first . Service was bad and they took a while to take our order . Bread was oil saturated and not crispy . I cannot recommend this place to anyone honestly . It plainly sucks .

Disgusting and rude service with no attention to customers!
They demand $20 per person for entry!
A mug of beer - $10
They brazenly take away 20% of the tip, even if you didn’t like the food and service!
I don’t recommend this terrible place!

Tap Beer New York is hands down one of the best spots in the city if you’re looking for a perfect combo of great food, excellent beer, and a lively atmosphere. The food here is absolutely amazing—flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re ordering something small to pair with a drink or diving into a full meal, you won’t be disappointed.
The beer selection is top-notch, with a wide variety of local brews and popular favorites on tap. There’s always something new to try, and the staff is happy to offer recommendations if you’re not sure where to start.
What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. On select nights, they have live music that adds a great vibe without overwhelming conversation. Plus, they show all the major sports events, so it’s a go-to spot for game day too.
The service is friendly and attentive, and the overall energy is welcoming without being over the top. Whether you’re with friends, on a date, or just want to unwind solo with a good beer, Tap Beer New York hits all the right notes. Definitely a 5-star experience!

I had a fantastic time at this beer bar! The service was excellent, and I loved that they let you sample the beers before making a purchase. It really helps you find the perfect drink for your taste. The bar also offers great snacks that pair perfectly with the beer. For sports fans, there are plenty of TVs to catch the latest games. Overall, it’s a great spot to relax, drink, and enjoy good company!
