I waited a week to come here for the first time on a Friday because it’s the only day they serve oxtails and salmon. I ordered both entrees but the oxtails, cabbage and rice and peas were good. The wait time was five minutes and staff was friendly. I commuted from another borough just to buy their food.

The food at TOH is incredible! Each dish is packed with flavor, especially the fried chicken and collard greens. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it feel like home. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic soul food!

Being originally from rural Alabama, I like to say I know good soul food and let me tell you, Taste of Heaven in Brooklyn does it right!!! I had recently moved to the area (3 years ago) from Queens and was so thrilled to try it. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. The fried chicken was piping hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The mac & cheese had that expertly baked, cheesy top just like my grammy and great aunties make. The collard greens were seasoned with what feels like true love and care. The cornbread was soft with a hint of sweetness, and the oxtails? Fall-off-the-bone tender. Staff was very friendly and welcoming so it felt more like a family kitchen than a restaurant.
If you're also Southern and homesick, this place will take you back. Real food, real flavor, no gimmicks.

This place is tucked away off the beaten path but it's well worth the visit. Generous portions, friendly service, and the food here will make you think you died and made it to heaven.

Oh my goodness, the food here is absolutely delicious. Seasoned, tender, moist, perfect. We got the bbq jerk ribs and chicken, mac n cheese, yams, and rice and peas with a side of corn bread. When i say every single bite was good. The meat was falling off the bones, too. My only advice is to order early early, because they ran out of the collard greens and some of the chicken while putting our order together All in all probably the best soul food I’ve ever had, 1000000/10
