I visited my mom in my old neighborhood today and decided to stop by taste the tropics . Omg it reminded me of my childhood when moms would get me and my sister ice cream after school . Mind you I’m 49 so they have been around a while and they still got it . I got me a rum raisin cup and I destroyed it before I got back home lol . They have so many flavors from soursop , to Guinness flavor and Irish moss to name a few . It’s a must try trust me .

The ice-cream flavours are natural, potent and delish. And they have such a wide assortment! The staff is courteous and friendly too. I wish they operated in Canada too. I will definitely revisit when able.

Was visiting Brooklyn from Cleveland. At home we don’t have access to the popular Jamaican flavor ice creams. The server was a bit rude, as though he had better things to do. Not sure it was bc I was trying to figure out the flavors I wanted. When I told him what flavor I wanted, he didn’t acknowledge, just walked off to get the ice cream, flung the freezer door open, then slammed it down when he was finished. I had a few flavors to get and he just repeated the behavior.. I know the place is fast paced, but I just felt unwelcomed and uncomfortable. The ice creams were great, it was just the service from this particular gentleman. Maybe he was not in a good mood this night.

the coconut ice cream is incredible, even if you don't typically like coconut treats. everyone i share it with ends up agreeing that it is outstanding.
