I went to DEIÀ on one of the coldest nights in Brooklyn last night and I had a time. DJ was great, the drinks were strong and worth the money, and it wasn’t too packed where it was uncomfortable. I would definitely be back

I’ve patronized this bar several times over the years. While never spectacular, I was always happy to support a neighborhood, Black-owned business—especially in a rapidly gentrifying area.
Tonight, I arrived dressed casually: a wool overcoat, hoodie, denim, and loafers—all of which happened to be tailored luxury pieces. I was turned away by a security guard (himself wearing a hoodie) who simply said, “Nah, I don’t do hoodies.”
I don’t know when this dress code started being enforced, but as someone who’s come here previously in a hoodie, and who could clearly see through the window patrons dressed in everything from athleisure to worse, I was shocked to be denied entry.
This is a major turn-off because arbitrary dress codes are too often weaponized to exclude “undesirable” types—which typically means poor people of color. I’m a Black young professional who lives in this neighborhood. I’ve actively recommended this place to friends across Brooklyn, trying to spotlight PLG’s burgeoning nightlife scene. This is incredibly disappointing.
I won’t be spending money here again, and I’ll make sure people know there’s a racially coded dress code designed to exclude young Black men. The owners should be ashamed to perpetuate such ridiculous standards at a mid-tier bar full of people in leggings, t-shirts, and the worst fast fashion has to offer.
First time at the bar and the place was nice. I was in the neighborhood supporting another bar and decided to stop by. Unfortunately, I waited about 20 minutes to get served and never did. There was only one bartender working, so I can’t comment on how the drinks were. To my understanding, the owner was right there and did not pitch in behind the bar.

The atmosphere was really nice, and the vibes were great. It’s a good place to hang out and talk with a friend even with music playing, it wasn’t too loud.
My only complaint is with the bill. When it came, there was both a gratuity charge and a delivery fee included. The gratuity was $32, which I understand, but the delivery fee was $35. We were dining in, so the delivery fee made no sense. If we hadn’t caught it, we would have tipped $67 on top of our meal.
When we asked about it, the server said it was an accident and offered us two shots for the mistake. She removed the gratuity, but not the delivery fee. When we questioned why the delivery fee was still there, she said it was “the same as gratuity,” which didn’t add up.
We paid the bill, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Please check your bill carefully before paying. I probably should have spoken to a manager, but at that point, I was over it.

The drinks were flowing, I ordered the Old Fashion, nachos, chips, queso, and champagne. I enjoyed the parking, partying and most of all the crowd. Pleased to say, I will go back!

Deia has been on my list to check out so I stopped by last Friday evening. It wasn’t too packed which was fine for my first time. I got a rum cocktail that was delicious and very strong. For food, I ordered the coconut shrimp and guava wings and loved them! Great portion sizing and both were yummy. As for the service, everyone, security, bartenders, busser, server, were all so professional and attentive. The owners made a great DJ selection booking Snips for Fridays because he played hit after hit. Didn’t hang out much in the back patio but there’s extra seating there which is nice because this isn’t the largest of establishments. However, I t’s such a cute local spot and I was very impressed with everything so I definitely recommend visiting for a drink or food or to dance. I plan to be back soon.

Well I went here 2 times. The first time there was a male bartender his customer service was okay. But it was not as great as I thought it would be . but then I went a second time and the customers service was really really . It took a long time to be served and there was no one in there. Then purchase drinks were not good . We received half a wine glass of a cocktail and when we made a request to fill it ; it was disregarded. We probably was only there for an hour and there was a request made for us to hurry up because they had another reservation and hour from the time we were still there. We felt like we were being rush so we decided to leave immediately. They obviously did not want us there. It was just disappointing especially because someone spoke highly of this place and I was looking forward to the experience. I went two times and it was not worth it to me.
