The food is excellent, they have a variety of great menu choices. My favorite is the shrimp. The staff is friendly and they really make you feel special. The drinks are great. Ask for the jiu jiu vodka drink. The owners are really nice, and you can feel the love they share in their food. Overall favorite local restaurant. Please support this great establishment. Found out about this spot by way of a clip and decided to check it out. For our first visit, we ordered take-out.
We were serviced by Montana. He was quite pleasant and attentive. Our order was not delayed we were quite pleased. We had the disticnt honor and pleasure of seeing Mama, the owner. A petit queen in statue, but a giant in the business that she has created! Like a child, I oohed and ahhed when I spotted her in the kitchen with her staff.
Montana was gracious enough to get her attention, and she smiled and waved at us as we exchanged pleasantries...
Once home, we fell head over heels with the food! To say that the food was delicious would be an understatement 😋 The seasoning, the amount of food, and the experience were perfect, and we vowed to return! And, in two weeks, we did, in fact, return with our two best friends!
This time, we met Ashley, a lovely patron. She was most welcoming, beautiful, and made out dining visit, one of which we shall treasure with delight, forevermore. Our meals were spot-on delicious, and our friends were equally pleased.
It was such a wonderful experience. Once we left, we returned to gift Mama and Ashley with bouquets of flowers as a special and endearing token of our appreciation and spiritual connection ✨️ Mama offered to take a picture with me!
We look forward to visiting The Grotto in the very near future and close with a message to all that The Grotto is a lovely place to visit. And, Mama's food is filled with love and magic that flows from her hands to your soul ❤️

The Mac and cheese is to die for, the most creamiest and cheesiest macaroni you will ever taste, beautiful crispy crust. Home made ginger beer feels like home, great balance of ginger and sweetness. Very pleased to find a Jamaican place offering a small selection of vegetarian and vegan options! The curried chickpeas were delicious with the coconut flavor of the rice and beans. The sorrel drink delicious as a NA option. It was chilly to eat on the patio (the heat lamps couldn’t compete with weather in the 30s), which is the only place to accommodate the group. Service was good- a waiter fixed our uneven table height without hesitation. The chef came out to greet us and talk. You can tell that she cooks from the heart and that feeding people is an expression of her care for others. What a sweet way to end our meal!

Well I order online at 1230 expected it to be done as they said 130 pick up time . I get a bag with three missing items. I got back and told the burger gonna be a wait. No time frame. So I can see this is just a hole n the wall with ideas thrown together. Would I dine here no wouldn’t order again or recommend . I get the culture but at this point in 2024 ya think waiting 1 hr after ordering online paying $80 is great service. Focus on the people who come in get rid of online ordering ya got everybody congregating n the back doing absolutely nothing. Absolutely Typical for Brooklyn . Don’t waste your time

Waited 2 hours for my food when I ordered ahead online. The employee even gave me the wrong food at one point and had to chase after me in the street to get it back. Jerk chicken pasta was good but not worth a 2 hour wait.
I abhor giving negative reviews to the Caribbean food community. I however, have never been made aware that rasta pasta is supposed to be spicy. My food was for $51 in total and a complete waste. My lips and tongue fumed with fire from the amount of pepper. I thought rasta pasta meant Bell peppers and possibly a hint of cayenne. Worst part is when I called I was told by the hostess that "it's supposed to be that way!" As a Jamaica that enjoys jerk chicken and have no issues with pepper this was just too much! Kmt

The service and untidiness took away from the food. We were among the first guests on Sunday. The bathroom was a train wreck, evident by the filled garbage receptacle and uncleanliness. The food was good but took over an hour to be served, even the appetizer.
