Absolutely delicious food! Possibly the best halal cart food I’ve had in NYC. They are incredibly generous with their portion size - one mixed platter was easily enough for two very hungry people. Abdul went out of his way to make sure we had enough sauce for our platter. Highly recommend getting the Munchies sauce. 10/10 would come back from Jersey for this.
Note: no option to dine in but there is a roadside park right around the corner with plenty of shade and benches. Don’t let the lack of seating deter you too much.

Early in the morning, THE MINCHIES had an expectation that things would go smoothly, but when the BOOS asked if I could wait for 20 minutes, I almost walked out. Just when I was ready to leave, he asked what I wanted and suggested they could make my food without interfering with the inspector. I really respected that, this experience with the BOOS showed a level of professionalism that’s impressive and rare. It’s moments like these that highlight why someone like him is successful in his field. Instead of brushing me off or making excuses, he took the initiative to find a solution, demonstrating that a great attitude and work ethic can turn a potentially frustrating situation into a positive experience. It’s these interactions that remind us of the importance of respect and communication in any community.

Reliable and delicious 24/7 — and I LOVE the people who work there. It’s a tough job (as it’s so busy), but they handle it like pros.
One suggestion: it might help to allow some music in the space. The fluorescent lighting can be harsh and isn’t great for mental health. Letting employees play music, as long as it’s not too loud, could make the atmosphere more relaxed or energizing, depending on the mood. Also it’s more fun for customers while we wait to pick up our food.

On this visit I purchased the Chicken Gyro and the Fried Shrimp. Both were yummy. The Gyro was super stuffed. Very excellent and tasty portion for the price. The shrimp were just right. Nicely battered, fresh and clean. Not over done. I'll definitely be paying them a visit when I'm in the neighborhood again.
Munchies is simply the best. I’ve been going here since they opened in 2022 or 2023. The people who work here are just great caring people, the service is quick and excellent, and the food is always fresh and made with quality ingredients. It’s no wonder they’ve grown so fast and have such a huge dedicated customer base. They tick all the boxes. My favorites are the mix platter and the wings - easily the best wings in town. Also, I live on the block and i appreciate what great neighbors the folks at munchies are to the residents of Union St, they keep the area clean which is awesome. Thank you for all you do.
PRO TIP: munchies can get very busy. if you’re picking up in person, order online via clover (no fees) and you’ll save yourself a wait.

I’ve been ordering from here for years and the food/service are always spectacular but my interaction with them yesterday was absurd and very disappointing. Literally just as I hit the button to pay on GrubHub an urgent meeting notice dings from work. There was no way I would be able to get home in time for the food delivery. I tried to cancel the order through the app but it was stating that the food was already being prepared. I’ve ordered during peak, off peak and even 1 am in person and never seen my food start to be prepared so quickly. The chat agent told me there was nothing they could do and I’d have to call the restaurant. I called and the woman who answered was very rude. At first she said that the food was already being prepared but when I questioned the hour delivery time she switched excuses and said the delivery driver was already there. As if I don’t know that they hang out there waiting for orders to come in. Finally she rudely snapped that I would have to take it up with Grubhub. I was able to speak with them to get the order canceled but the run around from the woman at the Munchies was the worse part of the experience. I’ll probably order from them again as the food is spectacular but it won’t be anytime soon. You expect the app to try and cheat you but for a small chain here in nyc to lie to locals is just disgusting and abhorrent.
