I had a great 4-star experience at The Wicked Monk! The atmosphere was a highlight, earning a solid 4-star rating for its unique vibe. Both the food and service were also good, each earning a 3-star rating. It is a wonderful local spot that I definitely recommend for a nice visit!

Used to love this place and come out here often with my friends. Tonight however the bar tender
with white hair and round glasses actively refused to serve us three waters after ordering beers. Silliest experience i ever had in a NYC bar.
Came in with three friends and two ordered beers. “No im not gonna serve you waters. Go to the deli. Dont get waters unless you arent drinking” Ok fine let me get two waters. “No you cant have that because you are costing the bar tap water money” (?????????)

Nothing worse than paying a premium price for a meal that feels like a workout for your jaw! The steak was a total disaster. I ordered it medium but it came out closer to well-done. Even worse, it was so incredibly tough that I actually felt like I needed a gym session just to cut through it! I was exhausted by the time I finished cutting and chewing. You see it drown in sauce it’s clearly to hide the poor quality of the meat. As for the burger, we asked for well-done not actual charcoal! The patty was burnt and so were the fries and the bun. The sandwich was so bone-dry it literally gets stuck in your throat you need a coke just to swallow it. Everything was super dry, overcooked, and definitely way too pricey for this kind of quality, I’ve been here before , the quality dropped significantly

We’ve been to this place a couple of times and the food was okay, but our last visit was truly disappointing. We ordered a burger and a steak—the burger, fries, and onion rings were burned, the whole meal was very dry, and the steak was extremely tough to cut and chew. It definitely wasn’t medium; it was closer to well-done. Consistency is what makes a restaurant reputable, so this experience really let us down. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it to my friends, which is especially disappointing given how highly rated this place is.

Grabbed a table on Friday night with no wait. They have a nice variety on the menu and we ended up getting the buffalo chicken wrap with a huge load of sweet potato fries and the wings with mashed potatoes on the side along with two drinks. The drinks were really good! Our waitress was super friendly and checked in on us multiple times even given how busy it was.

Really nice place to unwind. Good drinks, good food and friendly service; everything you can want in a neighborhood bar. Plenty of space around the bar, clean bathrooms and a comfortable, no-rush atmosphere. We liked it a lot. ♿️

I used to go to the old Monk a long time ago and loved it! This new version is a lot nicer and bigger and I had a great time, but I definitely miss the old one. If you never went to the old one than none of this matters and if you want a cool bar with stained glass windows in Bayridge than this is your spot!

If you are near Brooklyn, you MUST stop here. It has everything from a view of the Brooklyn Bridge to stained glass from a Monastery in Ireland!

My family and I recently hosted a memorial luncheon for our mom at The Wicked Monk and it exceeded every expectation.
From the incredible food to the truly exceptional customer service, this team delivered.
I first met with Megan to discuss the details and immediately I felt supported and understood. She was sweet, helpful, and truly concerned with making sure we were all good — even though she wouldn’t be there on the day of the luncheon. She stayed in touch leading up to the event, checked in to ensure every question was answered, and made sure we were in great hands with Clara and Chris.
Clara followed up with us right before the luncheon to make sure every detail was set. She truly knew the assignment — making sure all of our photos were displayed on the screens because she understood how important it was for us. Her attention and calm professionalism brought reassurance so we could focus on our guests.
Chris — our bartender, go-to guy, and (as I later learned) the owner of this wonderful place — was the very definition of hospitality. From our very first phone call to the last moments of the luncheon, his “whatever you need” attitude was unwavering. He anticipated every need and ensured everything ran flawlessly, all while being friendly, engaging, and perfectly attuned to the tone of the day.
And let’s not forget the food — absolutely fantastic! We’re a very picky Italian-Irish family, and the buffet was wonderful. Everyone kept talking about how much they enjoyed it, and we all agreed that my mom would have loved the meal and the warmth of the place.
What could have been a difficult day was made warm, welcoming, and full of heart because of this incredible team. If you’re looking for a venue that delivers both amazing food and truly above and beyond service, The Wicked Monk is it.
It’s also a wonderful spot for birthdays, showers, retirements, or any special celebration.

We love wings and fries, cocktails are good, and the attention was cordial enough, without interruptions.
