Five stars for ROSY only. Rosy is outstanding! I stopped in for my taro green tea matcha and chocolate croissant with my service dog — no issues at all. Another employee questioned whether I had paid, and Rosy calmly responded, “She paid cash.” I asked Rosy if everything was settled, and she kindly said yes. Although it was tacky and unprofessional of the other employee and/or supervisor to question her in front of a customer, Rosy handled the situation with grace and professionalism. I’ll keep it demure and not assume why she felt the need to ask if I paid. I also commend myself for remaining calm and composed.

I paid for fresh pressed orange juice and got an artificial juice n I paid $17 dollars for it . New lady or manager is cutting corners to make money .

I love my avocado toast & fruit but sometimes the fruit come with barely anything in it.
I also order mimosa here & there & they always make my cup so small & only put a little in it.

One of our favourite local spots for breakfast/brunch. Lots of different drinks to try (with different specials each season) and consistently good food, including a few gluten-free options. My husband loves the burger too (and he is fussy about burgers!)

I have been coming to Tikal Cafe for years, and will not be back after today. Today is my birthday, and I went to the cafe this morning just to quickly have their matcha waffles that I ordered and liked once before as dine-in. No drink and no fuss whatsoever- I wasn't planning anything special to celebrate, and just wanted to sit for a minute and eat before getting to work. Two minutes after I order my food, their front door that is ENTIRELY made of glass unlatches in the server/baristas hands. I immediately ran over to make sure she wasn't hurt and tried to stabilize the door until some help arrived, so that their front door wouldn't crash and shatter on the ground. This isn't a big deal to me, I am always happy to help. I helped lean the door against a heavy keg outside so that the server could make a call and do whatever else she needed to do. I waited outside for help to arrive in case the glass door started to slip, and did have to jump up to catch the door multiple times because of the wind outside pushing the door forward, and eventually just stood holding the door until the owner could get there. The owner arrived and said he had it, no thank you or anything, but it's stressful so that was okay and I understood. Over 30 minutes after I ordered (first order of the day, only one after mine), I still did not receive my food. By the time the person who ordered several minutes after me was given their food first, I gave up on my birthday breakfast, and asked to have my waffles packed to go when they were ready, so I could get to my work on time. I cannot express how disappointed I was to open my to-go box and see that they (the owner) only gave me the smallest amount humanly possible of both the whipped cream and strawberry cream after I personally saved them hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars saving their door without as much of a thank you. The waffles also tasted off, but I still would have come back the very next day if someone would have just communicated the long wait so I would know, asked if I wanted a refund, OR not have taken my order in the first place if there was no one to make it when I ordered it. I will not be back.

Last week I went to buy two large lattes and two almond croissants, I really like this cafeteria, the coffee is delicious and the food as well, but I have never had an unpleasant moment with any employee of this cafeteria, she gave me the small glass and said that if I wanted a large latte I had to ask for an extra large latte, and they had never done this to me in this cafeteria, they had always served me well and they always gave me exactly what I asked for, apart from everything the coffee was poorly made and when I opened it it was too greasy, even though it was regular milk my latte seemed like it had little yellow fat balls in it, what a shame because something like that had never happened to me 🙁

5/5 for offering straws, clear to go cups and not shaking the iced lattes before giving it to you. Service dogs are welcome, and there is cute (but windy) outdoor seating.

This is my favorite cafe in Brooklyn! I love everything on their menu. When people come to visit from out of town I always bring them here. Couldn’t recommend it more!!

My favorite place for Sunday brunch or a quick grab and go latte with a sweet treat. Teresa and her team are so warm and are the reason I keep coming back. Tikal is such a gem; with new weekly specials, affordable and iconic cocktails, and the perfect spot for organic and health forward ingredients.

This place is overpriced. They only carry one size. $7.89 after tax for a medium cold brew. I asked for light ice, the server said “this is light ice”, I asked nicely for less ice and she brings back a drink that tasted like all cream and milk. Definitely my last visit.
