Terrible experience. I stayed here on New Years Eve and when I was given the key to my room at 7pm, it had not been cleaned and was littered with bottles and pizza boxes. I was not able to use the room to get ready for my night out. Then I came back and attempted to shore before bed and there was no hot water. There was still no hot water in the morning. I talked to the front desk and they gave me the manager's email. He ignored my email but when my husband called, agreed to give us 20% off the room. But I had to go through booking.com to get the discount, and when they called on my behalf, the manager said he had never agreed to that. So I never got my discount and I spent nearly $600 on a room I could barely use and couldn't take a shower in.

Peter, at the front desk, is extremely rude and unhelpful. He used the term "that's on you" when I asked for help, and every one of the staff claim to be a manager and don't let you ask for help - avoid this hotel at all costs.

Cute hotel, I don't really have any complaints! It's nicely decorated, and the staff kindly let us hold our bags before check in so we didn't have to drag them around town. I basically just slept here but I would recommend it

TLDR: RUDE STAFF, NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.My fiancée and I were guests at her sister's wedding on the rooftop. The venue was beautiful and overall things went well. The main reason I am giving such a low rating is because I have never seen my fiancée (who is the most kind and patient person I have met in my life) so upset over an interaction with someone in the five years we have been together. Apparently a staff member was extremely rude while she was helping to clean up puzzle pieces of sentimental value to the bride and groom, ripping the tablecloth away and scattering the pieces everywhere while speaking to her in a rude manner. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable period, let alone in a hospitality setting. I will also say that my fiancée was just one of several individuals I heard complain about the staff that evening.I also was able to check out the rooms as the bridal party was getting ready. They are old looking and nothing special, and certainly not worth the prices they charge (even in NYC). Please consider staying somewhere else, hotels that tolerate this kind of behavior among their staff do not deserve our business.

Situated in a quiet neighborhood in Greenpoint, this hotel offers excellent common areas and large rooms, most with mini kitchens and appliances! The highlight might be the lobby and on-site bar, which features unique global decor and vintage touches. There is also a rooftop with views of Queens and midtown Manhattan!

A surprise find when I had to find an alternative to my usual hotel. I have never slept so well, as the beds and bedding (ala Ikea!) are beyond comfortable. Wonderfully eclectic with antique touches throughout. And the staff are so friendly. I highly recommend for anyone needing to stay in Brooklyn and am pleased with the reasonable room rates. Located in the Greenpoint neighborhood, so although the hotel has only street parking, I feel safe walking alone. Nice fitness room with weights, equipment, and sauna. I wish the adjoining restaurant was open every night. But Milk & Roses restaurant modeled after an old library right down the street has great food, decor, and an outdoor seating area. Wonderful hotel experience, Thank you!

The rooms are cold and the roof is noisy! It's easily the worse DJ you can imagine, which doesn't help. The food is very...very average. I wish the owners cared. Greenpoint is pretty cool though.

Being stuck in NYC due to weather, the box house hotel was welcoming site for a sore body and this weary traveler. Our greeting at 10 pm was met with a wonderful gentleman named John who graciously gave us complimentary breakfast for our stay. Breakfast was delicious and generous. The style and art of the hotel is quaint. The Greenpointe neighborhood is fun, full of life and don't skip the Greenpointe Beer and Ale's smoked pork belly sandwich BLAT. After the worst month of my life, this neighbor and welcoming hotel gave me hope. Thank you!!

The boyfriend and I wanted to go a little fancier for one of our tryst so we decided to see what this pricey hotel was all about. One word Overpriced. ProsVery clean, room was decorated cool. I like the balcony but without a chair or anything to sit on. It's basically a human size window. The bed was comfortable and despite their being a rooftop bar it was quiet and I got good nights sleep. Check in/out was easy and the front desks associates were courteous. ConsEven with it being cheaper then what they would normally charge still overpriced to me. I got a deal on booking.com. You're paying for the "hipster" location. The room was smaller than I expected. The "chair", if you can call it that, at the desk was hard as hell and honestly I was afraid to sit on it because it looked frail and child size. No microwave or refrigerator. It's was cool for our purpose and we got the experience. But I don't need to return. I would on someone else's dime however.

No way would I ever recommend this hotel again - we loved it the first time and location but not after the way we were treated within 48 hours of arrival. We had a rez for 2 rooms for 3 nights each October 12. The Owner & Manager arbitrarily cancelled our two rooms when they learned one room had a service dog. While the paperwork, breed and service performed was being emailed to them as they requested - they decided not to wait for it and instead just cancelled both rooms - even though the service animal was only staying in one room! Without explanation - they simply cancelled it. We begged them to reinstate the reservation within 30 minutes of getting the cancel emails (which had no warnings) and they said they could not because the hotel was now sold out. Do you believe them ? We did not and in fact - we went back on line and were able to book two rooms. SO... not only do they not care about medical needs, service animals or their repeat clients - but they also lie. This is not a hotel that offers customer service or respect. Stay elsewhere that are welcoming. It took us 5 hours and a million calls to find new rooms in Williamsburg which we finally did. UGH -

Recently stayed for 3-nights in their two bedroom duplex room to attend a wedding in Manhattan and reception held at their rooftop event space. Our room was conveniently located on the 1st floor at the end of the hall pass the lobby. We did not have any issues with noise. They offer free pastries and coffee in the morning if you prefer something light to eat. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of a nice playground for the kids, many markets to choose from, and various restaurants. The kitchen had everything we needed except kitchen towels. The only thing we had to pick up was hand soap and a roll of paper towels. The room was nice and clean and we paid $75 for early check-in around 11am.We had a very nice and comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel to stay and as a wedding venue. The reception was beautiful on the rooftop and the staff were all great.
