Topaze is one of my favorite West Indian restaurants in Brooklyn. There's a wide variety to choose from on their breakfast and lunch menus. One of my faves is the saltfish and provision breakfast meal. Very tasty!

Will not return!! Prices are ridiculous! Any fish must be purchased as a large. $25 after tax. Overpriced ... not ok especially if you need to make more than one order.

When you walk in there's a section to order directly then next to it is the restaurant where you can sit down and eat with a bar. I do believe on certain nights they play live music. Oxtail rasta pasta was great. Pasta was nice and creamy and the oxtail was very flavorful. The meat on the oxtail was generous. The rum punch was amazing! They actually use authentic Jamaican rum, Wray and Nephews (the best rum you'll ever have). Service was slow. I went with someone who's been here before and they informed me that you are able to make adjustments to your dish. When we requested to add to the rasta pasta the waitress said no. They did admit they were new so that might have been the reason they didn't allow for adjustments. Overall good place.

I noticed you guys have a problem giving your customers oxtail gravy on the rice and think dry rice is plusurable, I have urbered and personally pick up my orders and all though I requested oxtail gravy on the rice you so day ok but don't give it,,,,, WHY????? Do you save it for the trash rats or to use later on the next day????? Why can't I get simple water and brown grease????it's not a expensive request, but it makes your dry rice taste better!,,,,,,,

I placed a take out order for jerk, fried and stewed chicken plus a chicken soup. The chicken soup consisted of a half piece of chicken back, one piece of yam and a single dumpling. The stew chicken also contained a piece of chicken back. I called to convey my displeasure for the soup and the phone was answered by a female employee. Mid conversation, she passes the phone to a male employee without a word. The male employees tone was dismissive and lacked empathy. I was told that I always have a "choice." So I'm "choosing" to spend my money where it is valued. Chicken backs should not be served unless prior disclosure was given.

My biggest issue with Topaze is how inconsistent they are. I've ordered from them several times and only been completely satisfied with the food on 2 occasions. A big reason why I ordered so much is because there was a $12 off $20 special they had running on Grubhub. The first time I ordered I got the 1/4 jerk chicken it came with 2 pieces of hardough bread, side of Rasta pasta and a rum punch. I asked for jerk and pepper sauce on the side. The jerk chicken was flavorful and perfectly charred and grilled. The sauces were tasty and complimented the chicken well. The rum punch was made with wrey & nephew as it should. So it was strong but still had the fruit juice flavor. The Rasta pasta was complete trash. That was the first and only time I ordered it. The pasta was grossly overcooked and mushy , bland and the peppers were stringy and unevenly cut. Over the next few months the jerk chicken was so inconsistent in portion size, preparation and taste. They often didn't include the bread, even though it says it comes with it in the description and I reminded them in the note section. On more than 4 occasions I had to put chicken back in the oven to get more color on the skin and a better cook. The festival is always hard, dry, dense and on occasion tastes like it was from a previous day. The Mac and cheese was very salty the time I ordered it and that turned me off from ever ordering it again. They often had things on the menu that's wasn't available when you order. Then you have to go through the hassle of a refund. If they can be consistent, they could be great.

The atmosphere was simple, nice and looker clean but the jamaican older lady was giving a rude attitude like she didnt want to serve me and like i couldnt afford the food and charging me before she started preparing the food....paid 80 for 3 plates which i had no problem but minus the attitude please. Im not begging for the food there are more restaurants in the area. Smh. Ive been to expensive restaurants spent over 2000 to other local ones in the area like round 2 and island seas and never get attitude like this. Topaze pay your workers more or something so they dont give customers attitude for ordering food.
