The vibe is great, but it was too cold in the garden. It was kind of stressful at some point. Come on, temperature is basic for a good experience..The food experience was a fun challenge and unique, but the fish quality and flavor were just ok. 4 out of 12 pieces were 5/5 (the crunchy stuff that comes with crab was the best of all, unagi was rich in flavor, Jeju fluke was the perfect texture, and the yuzu sauce combined the yuzu salt was bomb). But the rest was 3 or 4. The seaweed was great, rice was well seasoned but it could be slightly less sticky. Worth the money? If the temperature is not a problem, yes for once for the experience.

If you rated this place low, you a hater. Like first off, they make you wash your hands before you even step foot in their establishment, so you already know what time it is. They don’t play about hygiene. Plus you have to take your shoes off. Love it, real method of them. The floor is immaculate too. Alright, so you made it in, the sushi chef’s are LOCKED IN. They got the sets READY. The way the platter looks is immaculate. It’s beautiful. You already wanna snap a photo and flex on your friends like yeah, this the life I really live. Then they got an array of seasonings from around the world that you can pair with any piece of fish, like how fun. That is so creative, so fun, so interactive. Like how big brained is that? Plus every time I’ve been here, the servers are so kind & soft spoken. They explain everything so thoroughly and their lil’ uniforms are so cute. I need to make a reservation soon, I usually feel extra bad & boujee this time of year.

Sushi set was amazing! Every bite was delicious and fresh. Seasonings were so good and unique, and I especially liked how they gave recs on which salts to eat with each fish. Toro was SO fatty and literally melted in my mouth. It was as much of an amazing experience as it was for its high quality sushi. Definitely would recommend if in the area!!

Truly wonderful experience! The prix fixe menu was amazing. The rice and soup were very delicious, and the sashimi is incredible. I love the customizability where you can decide how you want to eat the sushi. 10/10!

It’s Instagrammable. The food was tasty, and although the drink menu felt a bit overpriced, it was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience. The part where you pair different sashimi with a variety of salts was fun, but I had some doubts about the quality of the fish. Especially the uni we had at the end, it had a strong, unpleasant smell, and finishing it felt more like a challenge than a treat. Also, for those who might find floor seating uncomfortable, just a heads-up. It’s something to be aware of before you go.

We had an unforgettable experience at Ume for my mom’s birthday! Everything from the atmosphere to the service made the night special. It took us a bit to find the storefront (rain didn’t help!), so I do wish the sign was a little bigger. They run on a set schedule, but we didn’t wait long from our reservation time.

You remove your shoes and wash your hands before entering, which adds a nice traditional touch. The preset menu includes 12 unique nigiri pieces served in an aesthetic way, and you can order more afterward. I only wish we had more room! They even surprised us with what seemed like vanilla ice cream topped with peanut shavings, which ended up being our favorite part. Big thanks to our enthusiastic server for making the evening so memorable!

This place is probably my favorite omakase experience in NYC. I really enjoyed all of the pieces of fish and shellfish that were included in the set menu. The seasoning pairings were also very different from what I’ve seen before and we had the liberty of trying whichever seasonings with whichever course we preferred. The strawberry green tea pairing was absolutely delectable. My favorite piece was the toro; it melted right into my mouth.

It’s a really fun dining experience and the staff is wonderful.

Just make sure you really enjoy raw fish before coming in.

Also would definitely recommend the mochi ice cream dessert!

Really exceptional presentation and experience. I'd definitely come again or recommend to friends for a special occasion. My favorite were the different condiments that were hand selected from all over the world! Be aware the set meal, priced at $78, comes out to be about $100 when you factor in tax and tip)

We tried their omakase, which was deconstructed, it was quite ingenious and very good! We ordered an extra cup of rice amongst three of us.
