This place feels like home! Besides the uncomfortable metal chairs, I would never have those in my home, but I understand. The staff is super welcoming and helpful. The food is delicious and nutritious, not quite as good as uptown, but still good and same style where you can order a smoothie, paty, burger, or just pick all your favorites. If course they have all the tropical juices and cakes they're I love and they're known for. The decor is warm and makes you want to sit and eat, I just wish they had more environmentally friendly plating options for dining in; I would take a paper bowl or there's ones made of corn. I love this business and all the wonderful people I cross paths with at they're restaurants, it's a testament to awesome this place is that there's so many loyal customers and people trying Uptown Veg for the first time who come from around the world.

First off the food is fantastic, homestyle cooked food made from natural ingredients. Very little faux meat and more healthy vegan food.

They have really good spicy vegan food! Very flavorful and friendly. Had the jerk vegan chicken and a curried chickpea side and would come back for them. I want to try everything eventually!

I stopped by one evening and tried almost everything on the buffet style menu. Overall the vegan food is good. It's definitely a healthy dining alternative similar to ITAL food. I especially (and unexpectantly) loved the soy chilli and was excited to try the jerk and curry options. The deserts and cakes were delicious too! The food is not heavily seasoned or spicy but I enjoyed it and understand that different carribean countries have different flavor profiles. The ladies that greeted me that day were very nice and helpful, and one lady shared that she's from Guyana. (I'm intrigued to learn more about her country!) But the establishment had a nice atmosphere that was inviting and clean with ample seating. I appreciate having local vegan eateries like these around! Thank you!

I got the curry chicken and jerk chicken with roti. The chickens were good but the roti was not great at all. It would be nice if some kind of vegetable was offered on the side to this dish but otherwise a great portion for the price and super tastes!

What a great spot. I'm not even vegan or vegetarian and I truly enjoyed my meals here. Besides great service and a variety of options I love that they have a huge backyard! This is a Black - Caribbean (Guyanese) Owned Restaurant that has sister locations in Harlem that dates back 20+ years. When you walk in you are greeted by a neon sign that says "VegStuy". Cute. Ample seating inside but they also have outdoor seating and tables. The food options include, hot case buffet-style items, wraps, juices, smoothies, salads, pastries, patties and cakes to name a few. I also learned that the juice that they make, Kumani Creek, is also available at Whole Foods! Throughout my visits I've had jerk chicken, teriyaki stir fry with chicken, rice & peas, curry chickpeas, collard greens, vegan mac n cheese and quinoa. No complaints. Would definitely order again. If you like mushrooms try their VegStuy burger with oyster mushrooms.

Just dropped in for a juice/smoothie and had a wonderful conversation with the person who prepared it. Very kind! And the smoothie was delicious!

Curry chickpeas and collard greens were bitter and had no flavor. Rice and peas and candied yams were dry but edible, not enjoyable. I wouldn't buy them again even if there was no other option. The food is buffet style so the majority of the food looked really dry. The passion fruit juice was good. The establishment itself appears very clean and the backyard looks cozy. This place has potential given the decor and location but needs a new chef.
