We stopped in for cocktails only while we waited to go to a different reservation We had. We sat at the bar and enjoyed great service and a good show from the kitchen. After reading the menu, watching how clean and efficient the kitchen was and smelling the food, we were disappointed we weren't eating there. It's a very cool vibe, intimate setting with a great staff. We are planning a trip back to Brooklyn just to try this place.Quiet neighborhood that feels very safe.

Best pancakes here! Was told that it's a must-try and certainly didn't disappoint. Crusty at its edges, topped with that sinful slab of butter and dripping with maple syrup, thin apple slices fill each monthly with a nice crunch...the perfect brunch along with the smoked trout with eggs that we had.A very cosy place nestled in a little neighbourhood.

Atmosphere was great and pancakes were delicious! Egg sandwich has some cheese that some of my family didn’t love, but overall great place!

My wife and I went here once many years ago and had one of those very delightful, memorable experiences. We've gone back a couple times more recently and been consistently disappointed. We find the food (meat, pasta) tends to lean too far into "undercooked". And this time our waiter disappeared and transferred to another person without notice — something I wouldn't expect in a restaurant of this caliber. I'm sure it's just right for some people, but I doubt we'll be going back.

Vinegar Hill House is such a good spot! Each time we go, we have a memorable experience. This last visit we had a dish of octopus and fennel agridulce that blew our minds. Celeriac was prepared in a cold manner that was so intriguing and delicious.Service was excellent too with thoughtful suggestions and attentive to details while being approachable and kind.Strongly urge you to visit if you get the chance.

I have been coming here for twelve years. I have NEVER had a worse experience than the way I was treated . I paid $8 for what was explained as a bread basket. They brought 1 slice of breadI was charged double for one order of cheeseWhen I called and spoke to the beverage manager, Amber, she refused to put me in contact with the head manager, was rude, dismissive, and then hung up on me like a little two year oldWhat a way to ruin a fantastic relationship over bread. But really over arrogance. Then, the restaurant would no longer answer the phone. Can you believe that? I wonder what happens when someone really complains over their dinner.A simple apology would have sufficed. The owner should be embarrassed but, then again, the fish rots from the head, now doesn’t it

Love this restaurant. Love the staff. The food is lovely and they really cater to the seasons with their thoughtful, fun menu. Love the small town historic feel of the restaurant. Great ambiance. LOVE the brunch. Fireplace downstairs is fabulous when it's warm. Would recommend, it does get busy so try to make a reservation!

Lotta love for this spot. My favorite neighborhood restaurant. So cute. This is what Brooklyn does so well. Food is decent, sometimes exceptional.

The food was delicious, the staff super nice and friendly. All the dishes we had was amazing and the balance of taste of food was perfect. The octopus was (I can’t explain it) FABULOUS, chicken was delicious as well. I’m not a chocolate fan person but the chocolate guinness cake was so yummy. Just our server forgot to offer us a second drink or at least refill our water bottle but it’s ok, sometimes happens. Can’t wait to come back and try some different dishes.
