This review is not for the food but for the service. And specifically the host of this restaurant. I cannot believe any restaurant would hire her. She legit kept me waiting for 45 mins for a single egg drop soup when I called and confirmed , she said it would be ready in 5 mins. Every 10 mins I went to check on it, and she was like 10 more mins. Finally she’s like oh what’s your order. And then when she comes gives me the soup after 45 mins- she gives me attitude. I’d be careful to visit this restaurant if she’s working there. She’ll probably ruin your night like she’s ruined mine
Such an amazing experience here! Everything we ordered was delicious, so fresh and full of flavor. The steamed dumplings are light with a flavorful juicy filling, and the wonton soup was perfect and comforting. The peanut chili wontons also had the perfect kick, and the scallion pancakes were crispy, warm, and super satisfying. I ordered The Bird of Paradise cocktail which was on point. Beautiful calm/ cozy atmosphere. Great service 💯💯. Can't wait to come back to try the sesame chicken.

Food is good but the hours are note accurate. Said they were open until 2AM, but I came at 12:30 and they were closed.
Loved the design, the decor, the music, and the food- loved it all!! Enjoyed everything we ordered- the spicy chicken, veggie peanut sauce wontons, hot & sour soup, and the duck. Would come again!!

Their red peppers were moldy and ruining the full dish. The tsos chicken and spicy tofu dish had that distinct moldy smell where you can’t really pinpoint why it’s bad. Then I grabbed a loose pepper and it smelled terrible. We spent 80 bucks on two dishes, bok choy, and egg rolls. Only to feel like we’re going to puke. Do not eat here.

Wow did Weis get a new chef? It's bad. I got the Mapo tofu, salt pepper fish, and green beans.
The salt pepper fish is more batter than fish, and over fried batter at that. The Mapo isn't spicy anymore and has a bit too much cornstarch slurry or whatever they use to chicken it.
The green beans lack flavor.

im sad this place looked good 😭 got the hot and sour soup and it was just not that at all-basically a lot of oil and water and a couple veggies-not a hot and sour -just oil and no flavor 😫
A favorite spot in Brooklyn.

Some of the best food and service I’ve experienced in NYC and I’ve lived here for 20+ years.

Rude waitress. Staff rushes you out. Food very very mediocre and tasteless or too salty. M Shanghai way better food and service.

This is an excellent delicious dinner option to satisfy any Chinese food craving. I’m not giving it 5 stars however because WHY is that woman SO SURLY and rude? I don’t understand how people choose to work in a service industry and have terrible attitudes? I’ve been 3x now and everytime she is so nasty. Girl - get a new job!
