We went on a Saturday night around 6pm and were lucky enough to get a table since the place was starting to get packed. Food was excellent: we had the pretzel, kielbasa and chicken schnitzel. Cozy but lively vibe. Definitely coming back.

Literally one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. Truly, the best pretzel I’ve ever had and the spaetzel, kraut and weiner schnitzel were phenomenal. I came here 10 years ago and came back this past weekend and it’s just as good as I remembered.

Hits and misses throughout our dinner here. Goulash was under seasoned and disappointing. The Brat was good, and the chicken liver mousse was good, but served with stale untoasted rye bread… The worst part of the night however was the speed of the service. They are definitely trying to rush you out. They’re too busy to talk or say hi. Our first course arrived 2 minutes after ordering and the entrees came a few minutes after that while we were still on the appetizer. No chance to chat or have a drink, just eat and go. The check was on the table 20 minutes after we had ordered our food and the whole thing felt like a blur. Not a relaxing time at all. Good looking place, running like an over-oiled machine. Weird $4 “convene fee” added to the check too, even though we paid cash. Ick.

We had dinner here and tried the Kase Spatzle and the Curry Wurst plus a blackberry cider and glass of wine. Keep in mind they accept cash or American Express only. I thought the food was excellent and well priced. The total for our dinner was $70 without the tip when paying in cash. They do add a 4% fee if you use Amex. My only complaint was the person who waited on us wasn't very friendly and barely said anything, no recommendations on food or a thank you at the end of the meal. Overall the meal was enjoyable and did remind us of food we ate in Austria.
Not much of a schnitzel as far as actual German schnitzels go, but it was a tasty breaded, sort of pounded, half chicken breast. .
The pasta dishes are fantastic.
Beers are also great. A good selection and cold tap.
