I feel very conflicted with this place. The night I visited, there was live entertainment, the views of the city were beautiful, and the drinks were incredible. I had a great time - but the experience was unfortunately dragged down, pretty heavily, by the service and the quality of the food. We waited over 20 minutes for each round of drinks and over 25 minutes for the check. It was a busy night so I understand the slight dip in quality of service; the food however remained a BIG disappointment. The spicy tuna bites not only lacked spice, but also flavor. Served with crispy onions on top it felt more like a casserole your aunt might make, than small plate at an upscale rooftop bar. The lamb tacos were also lackluster at best. The lamb was great but the quality on the corn tortillas was embarrassing, and were soggy and sticking to the plate when they came to the table. The lamb meat itself was tasty, but the tortilla was just bad, and the taco itself lacked any balance, and was not much more than just meat and tortilla. If all you want is drinks and a view, I would still recommend westlight; that being said, don’t come hungry and don’t expect the quickest service

had high hopes for this rooftop, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The interior felt dark and uninviting, with worn-out furniture—some chairs and sofas even had visible holes. It definitely needs a refresh.

We ordered a few bites, including octopus, fries, and burrata. The food was decent, nothing memorable but not bad either. However, the cocktails were a major letdown—not only did they taste like they were made with cheap liquor, but they also took an unreasonably long time to arrive.

Service wasn’t great either—the server wasn’t very welcoming and seemed indifferent. To top it off, we visited on a rainy day, and with the thick fog, there was no view to enjoy.

Overall, a disappointing experience.

Surprised about the food, above average quality. But front desk lady was kinda rude. She is not happy when we ask for another table, even there are lots of empty space.

Food and ambiance were great and we typically love coming here. We went here on Saturday 2/8 for a 5pm reservation for my wife’s birthday. The website said kids are admitted until 6pm so we took our two young daughters. Upon arrival, we were told kids had to be out of the restaurant by 6pm by the elevator man. We arrived upstairs and were told the same by the greeter. I showed each person what was written on the website and they said we could stay until 6:30. Around 6:10, at his managers request, the waiter said we shouldn’t order more food because we needed to leave by 6:30. At this point we felt unwelcome and it began to ruin the birthday dinner.

I went and spoke to the manager and showed her what was written on the website and said we felt rushed. She didn’t care much what I had to say, rushing me through what I was saying and telling me we had until 7pm. No one ever acknowledged that the website had a different policy than what they tell customers in person. I completely understand that it’s a nice place and they want to cater to an adult audience, but they need to be consistent about their children’s policy and be polite when a customer has an issue.

It's definitely not the place to eat. The food wasn't delicious.. tasted like microwaved left overs. Service wasn't bad and neither were the drinks. You're definitely paying for the view.

ok so I’m annoyed that I have to post this about west light but the management is terrible. I loved west light before this recent incident - in fact my husband booked our surprise engagement dinner at Leuca in 2021 and it was incredible service. Now we come back for the winter chalet and were extremely disappointed on how the service was handled. We got there and were told our chalet got destroyed bc of the weather (not their fault) so they told us they’d refund the entire amount and gave us the option of a smaller chalet or the sky lodge that would be private. We chose the chalet. Few days later we get a partial refund for the 550 we booked before even though we were told by staff we’d get a full refund and I had to email management to argue my case. They said their booking of chalets aren’t for food which they conveniently leave vague on their website to mislead customers. Also, the manager had the audacity to say they’re “waived” the 10 dollar bounce house fee per person even though every person we saw there that night did the same and the waitress encouraged us to jump (nowhere was charge mentioned, we spent 5 mins bouncing, there’s no way we would’ve paid 10 pp). Anyways, poor management for westlight and quite honestly absurd they would try to argue they’re right in this case — staff itself were a lot more friendly/helpful rather than management. Won’t be visiting again especially since there’s tons of rooftops with great vibes and service around.

Forgot to review from last year's winter village. The fondue was one of the most disgusting thing's we've ever eaten. Honestly, our fault for not sending it back the second they put it down. We couldn't eat more than a bite of it. Everything else was subpar and very expensive. Don't go here for a fun holiday expereince.

I’ve worked in Hospitality my whole life being from Vegas and this was my worst experience in NY at my own hotel sadly. Reservation at 10:30 and the server Joselyn did last call to us right when we sat for food and drinks when they close at 12 am. I understand they were trying to get out of there so we just ordered everything all at once. Food came before are round of drinks which is weird for a 5 Star hotel. Food was super mid and drinks could’ve been executed a lot better. To top off the whole experience our server Joselyn asked if we wanted more water and we said yes respectfully. She got mad at us for that for some reason and dropped the empty water bottle at the table and didn’t bring us more water. I went to the bar to get us more water with the bartender and he was very helpful. I’m not one to get mad easily with service people because I know how it is but this was unacceptable. The place still had a lot of people and we were there for probably 30 min at this point. Maybe it’s because we were a party of 6 so she got her automatic 20% no matter what. I think the Manager needs to retrain their staff the core values of service and how to not take out a bad day on customers. Views were great outside is the only plus.

The view is absolutely incredible, but unfortunately, that's the only positive point. Everything seems designed to rob customers, with a team displaying false sympathy motivated solely by tips. A disappointing experience and such a shame considering the potential of the place.👎👎👎

DO NOT RENT A CHALET, they are a scam. I’ve been to Westlight multiple times and have always had a pleasant enough experience - drinks are good but overpriced, ambiance is fine. We decided to book a reservation in a chalet, thinking it was the same as indoors, and come to find out it’s an additional $90 to sit in a plywood shed next to a deflated ice rink. With only one round of drinks, we literally paid double to freeze with views of the city obstructed by glaring lights from other chalets. The wait staff is nice, cocktails are fine, but the chalets are a racket - take your money to any other rooftop hotel bar in the area.
