At one point my favorite sandwich in the neighborhood, Winner has drastically fallen down my list for becoming loveless and overly expensive (a chicken salad sandwich is now $18.50 before tax and tip). Their sourdough loaf remains a good deal ($10 for a hearty loaf), and I will forever love their chocolate-chip cookie. But I can't justify $20 for a single-meal sandwich. Gone are the days of being able to turn their generously filled, $15 sandwiches into two satisfying meals....
Utterly baffled how this is not above a 4.5 this is one of the best spots in nyc. Breakfast sandwich is dreamy. Every bread is perfect. Even the coffee is great. Flawless establishment.
Great bread. The croissants are delicious. Some of the sandwiches are excellent. (Not all, though. I thought you can’t possibly mess up a BLT until Winner proved me dead wrong with the slippery, gummy, chewy monstrosity they call a BLT.)
