Stepping into DjonDjon in Brooklyn, I was immediately struck by the inviting atmosphere – and even better, finding parking was fairly easy, a definite plus in this vibrant borough! I came in with high hopes, and DjonDjon delivered beautifully.
Our server, Julissa (I hope I'm spelling that right!), was an absolute delight – attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
I opted for the DjonDjon Burger and it was fantastic. The patty was juicy and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the fresh toppings. But what truly elevated the meal were the sides: the Green Plantains were perfectly fried to a golden crisp, sweet and utterly addictive, while the Black Rice was rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite was a testament to the authentic flavors DjonDjon brings to the table.
Based on my experience, DjonDjon is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Haitian cuisine. With its fantastic food, great service from people like Julissa, and convenient parking, it's a gem in Brooklyn. Thank you ❤️

I had diri sòs pwa with griot & plantains, & my friend had the seafood shrimp pasta which he didn’t finish after 1 bite, he said it didn’t have any seasoning at all & you could count the shrimp that were inside of it . The griot was ok not really seasoned or cooked well the white rice was good alone but the sòs pwa was the worst I’ve ever had thus far, & that was so disappointing because I’m not even from NYC & I love Haitian food.

Have to try the griot sliders!!! They were delicious. Also ordered the Djon Dion Box with chicken, sweet plantains, and the pate kode (codfish) to go. The food was delicious, service was great, and the music and atmosphere was perfect for a chill Sunday evening. Will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been to djondjon restaurant twice & i can officially say that i will not be going back. About a month ago i went to this restaurant with a few friends & we were not happy at all. They do not have the authentic haitian food as someone mentioned in one of the reviews.First of all they only have one type of rice which is diri djondjon & it does not taste the same as the regular ones i known of,as well as the ‘’legume’’ my friend & i could all agree on that. Moreover we asked for soup joumou, after waiting for over an hour, the server came back to say there’s no soup joumou like seriously? After an hour? The only thing that was good was the ‘’fritay’’ but i could go on & on about a lot of things that we were not happy about that day but at last we left the restaurant very unhappy with the food.

Last week i decided to give it another try cause everyone deserve a second chance & chose to go for fritay since that’s the only thing i liked the first time i went, boy! I was wrong. At first i called & ask if i can take ‘’kabrit boukonnen’’ with my fritay, the lady i spoke to said yes you can take your ‘’kabrit’’ whichever way you want & the price will be the same as if you took it fry. After hearing this,i left my house & drove close to 30 mins to reach the restaurant only for the front lady to tell me if I’m getting the ‘’kabrit boukannen’’ with my fritay the price will be different which is double price of the fry goat but again with no argument as the lady seemed a bit frustrated as i was telling her about my call i just took the regular fritay. I told her i’m going to sit in my car & come back in 20 mins since she said it’d take 20 mins or so to prepare both fritay as i ordered 2 of them,a ‘’tassot’’ & a ‘’griot’’ long story short,i came back after 15 mins & my food was already there waiting for me🤔😳 how can you freshly prepare 2 fritay in less than 15 mins.I don’t know if it was the owner but a guy gave me the food so i confronted him asking how come both fritay were ready in such a short period of time & he got the nerve to tell me that he doesn’t know,i placed the order & came back in less than 20 mins so he handed me my food as they gave it to him.Again to avoid argument i took the food & left.Once i got to the car i started eating my food, plaintains were warm, you can tell it wasn’t freshly made & the pork was hard. Seems like they use those frozen plaintains & just warm it up when people order or at least it was the case for me at the time cause there’s no way in the world you can prepare 2 orders of fry plaintain in 10 mins.In addition, after finish eating my fritay,i got sick to my stomach shortly after. All this to say that i will not be returning to djondjon restaurant & if you’re looking for the real authentic haitian food this is definitely not the best restaurant to go to,2/10 do not recommend.
