This place is delicious, Mostly vegan (Barring the Lo mein), and has tons of healthy options. I love ordering the “fish” steak and the sautéed bok choy. I also think their prices are very reasonable. Plus, the staff are very nice and accommodating. Today, my “fish” steak had general Tso’s sauce on it which I did not asked for. So, I called and they sent over my order the correct way.
I highly recommend anyone searching on Doordash to look at this restaurant menu. Don't waste your money or time to order from Zen Vegetarian are most unorganized. How dare you come drop off my food delivery and not put any forks in my bag?
This place is awesome and has been my go-to spot ever since moving here to Brooklyn! The General Tso's is my personal favorite, but pretty much everything on the menu is good. And the prices are very reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get. Would definitely recommend anyone in the area try this place out, you won't regret it :3 Oh! And make sure to try the shakes too, they're killer
I had placed an order for their chicken sandwich, and pineapple fried rice. I must say the pineapple fried rice was super delicious and really good for how much you pay and get. As for the sandwich I had only ordered one but was given two which was cool however the sandwich was so bad. The patties they use were so thin the tomato they put on it was double the thickness. Not sure if they buy the patties pre made but it was so tough it almost felt like it wasn’t thawed out. Then it didn’t mix well with the avocado on it as well because of how tough it was. I’d probably come back again for the pineapple fried rice maybe some other dishes but I’d totally stay away from the sandwiches.

Tried this for the first time Friday night, did an order for pick up and literally everything was so insanely delicious, not only that, but so generously portioned! The spring rolls, hot and sour soup, & Singapore style noodles & cookies and cream ice cream were outstanding. I can’t wait to try out their other dishes!

Chinese takeout that hits the spot. I had ordered from Zen Vegetarian before and recently gave them another try. Glad I did because this order was much more satisfying. The General Tso’s is fiyah. The marinated soy chicken texture and flavor were on point. The vegan goddess stir-fry noodle was tasty. The Chinese broccoli and eggplant chili sauce rounded up the order. Gotta have those veggies.
The only thing I’d wish for is to be easier to identify which dishes are vegan. The whole menu could actually be vegan. I am finding contradictory information online. If anyone knows, please share.
Generous servings. Cash only.

I ordered dinner from Zen via Uber Eats, and, I’m so happy I did! Everything was prepared fresh and to order, arrived steaming hot, with portions large enough to share or save for the next day.
The protein fried rice will be a must with every order from now on, and the Singapore Mei Fun (a personal favorite) was fantastic, with flavors extremely reminiscent of the non-vegan version. Also, don’t forget to order the Salt & Pepper ‘Chicken’! You’ll be happy you did :)
Thank you, Zen Vegetarian! I’ll be back very soon.

This is the best vegan Chinese food in NYC. Not only that, but the people that run it are some of the sweetest and positive people. The woman that runs the front counter is the light of my life! I legitimately look forward to calling and seeing her.
There’s so much that makes this neighborhood great, and this place is top of the list!

Cheap takeout Chinese, but also better quality and tastier food than any other Chinese places Ive had! This is my go to spot, always reliable and the host is so nice!

Delicious food and super friendly staff. I’m not a vegetarian but I usually eat here at least once a week because it’s THAT good! Even if you’re a carnivore you should still give Zen a try. Far better than most of the other Chinese options in the area.

Reasonable prices, good portions and I love that they have desserts from vegan treats! The woman who takes your order is extremely sweet. More of a takeout place but they will allow you to use their restroom. Also nice that this is located so close to prospect park
I just got home and finished my Malaysian pancakes and mango chicken and I have to say this is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in my whole life. The prices are the best I’m going to come back all the time. Food tastes so yummy and is vegan ???
