Awesome and fresh food, I loved the character the place has, and the employees were very kind. I will definitely come back again.
We tried its winter tasting menu and it was great. The 8 course tasting menu costs 75 dollar per person, with a 7 fixed dishes and 1 desert that you can choose from 4 options. The environment is cozy but a little tight. It has privacy but the seat is small. A good place for romantic dating since you can it REALLY close to your partner.
I had my reservations about Japanese food but when i tried Zenkichi my mindset changed for good. The food was splendid. Presentation great!! What i love most about this place is the privacy. There's a booth for everyone and the blinds are always kept down. Its a perfect place for a romantic night out with your partner.
Great experience. Unique environment. Tasting menu was delicious with the sake pairing. Although quite expensive, worth it for a special occasion. Great service with explanations of all the dishes
I like this restaurant! They have awesome meals, their menu is varied, The cook in that place is a real pro, I like very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the service towards the customers is very good too. I frequently visit this restaurant and I was never discontended. I recommend it with no hesitation.
The food is constantly fresh and delicious, cashiers gives good service. I liked how clean it is and mood. Would recommend to others.
Food was excellent, staff were incredible, the only thing missing was the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the interior of the place is amazing, it feels like you are walking through a Japanese garden at night and builds the anticipation for your first course but once you arrive at your table it feels like any other restaurant. Bland wooden table and walls. It would be nice if the ambiance brought about the same feelings as the food.
One of my favorite spots in all of NYC. This is a most go. Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing atmosphere. Treat yo self and get an amazing meal here that you’ll be thinking about for months after.
Can’t say enough AMAZING things about this place - some of the best quality food we’ve had in a while. It’s a great experience too - really felt like private dining. The staff is friendly and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in the ingredients they use. I did the vegetarian tasting menu and my boyfriend did the regular - both blew us away. Definitely recommend the sake pairing.
Went back years after and still serving great omakase! Foods are fresh and beautiful and the service is very attentive. Great place to enjoy the evening.

my first Omakase experience, and my first time at this restaurant... and man was it incredible. First off, i am gluten free which they accommodated.. i also don't eat beef, which they also accommodated happily. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and at the atmosphere was just perfect. Every bit of it was romantic and enjoyable. The walnut chocolate dessert... divine. What a treat this place was!
Server was unable to tell me what sashimi was available and when I asked for her to check with the kitchen she told me the chef could not tell me either. Also- be aware they don’t sell wine except one bottle at $120. The service here is slow (at best). Never returning!
What an amazing experience, Zenkichi left me stunned! The food was absolutely delicious (we had the Autumn course meal) and the atmosphere was truly zen. I'm excited to go back and try the other seasonal course meals!
The food, service, and ambiance are excellent, or were as of a few years ago. Why only one star? The condescending and obnoxious "no diners under 14" policy. My 12 and 11 year olds have had many an omakase meal, including in Japan, and would love this one. But I guess I will take my business elsewhere.
One of the few omakase restaurants to offer vegetarian options and for just $65. Very reasonably priced, great food and service
