I had lunch at zest today. I got toro tartare was amazing, Mac and cheese so unique. Omakase is so creative. My friend and I so happy found good place in cobble hill. We'll be back.

The service was good, friendly and attentive, but the food was average and it took about 20 minutes for the first thing to come out on a pretty much empty restaurant. The squid was chewy and bland, and the tonkatsu ramen was bland and watery. I expected long-cooked pork broth, but it was just a milky water. The pork tasted fine, but I expected melt-in-your-mouth pork and didn't find it.

This restaurant is one of the best japanese restaurant I've been to. the fish is very fresh and the staff is nice and friendly especially the lady owner she is very accommodating. I will definitely come back here, not to mention the price is very competitive with other restaurant. So I highly highly recommend this for a relax and enjoyable dine in place.

The tonkatsu ramen was delicious, especially the chashu pork! It was braised really well and very tender and flavorful. I'm giving this place 4 stars though because the service was quite slow, despite there being only three other tables occupied. Took more than half an hour for the two main dishes to come out. The servers however were very friendly and two of them are even a married couple, which I think is sweet.

Ok so I popped in here for lunch at the end of their lunch crowd. Literally 2 minutes before they closed. You know what I love, excellent device at the end of your shift. Enjoyed a delish bento box, soup and cocktail. Stellar service and food just delish. Sorry no photo, I yammer it too quick.

The chicken katsu curry is legit 👌 Nice interior and the staff were friendly as well. My new Japanese curry go-to!
One reason I docked a star is because it's one person manning the front and probably one person in the kitchen. Service tends to be laggy.

This restaurant is amazing! I ordered a dragon roll and a classic tokyo tonkatsu ramen, and they were great! I was surprised to find out that the restaurant was doing a promotion that gives you a 20% discount coupon because of its grand opening. It expires next month, get it while you can!
