My wife and I ate lunch here on September 20, 2019. Our server, Mondea, was terrific. My personal pizza (I'm 59 but I ordered off the kids' menu) was delicious. My wife ordered the turkey sage sandwich.
staff wonderful. art wonderful.grounds wonderful.some rooms closed for reno with art stored away...less wonderful.
Visited before they close for renovations. They have some exhibits of light that the baby enjoyed. Loved, loved, loved our docent. He was so inspiring.
This gallery is enjoyable for people of all ages. It is very family friendly. My children have come here at different ages and enjoyed each time.
Amazing ! It was very pleasant experience.
Recently visited here. One of the best collections of art I have ever had the honor of viewing. Make it a point to stop here, you will be amazed.
the collection is world class... the new exhibitions are really interesting besides being breathtakingly beautiful. the staff are extremely knowledgeable. .. the food delicious. .. the ShopAK... filled with great things to purchase...
Rocking the Knox SUCKED. From the beginning with the way the line was handled (earlier arrivals had to go to the end of the line while later arrivals just walked past the line and directly in). The food/drink ticket sales were quick but you could not spend them with over 30 minute lines. Too many tents in the line of sight instead of on the peripheral. Smoking. 103.3 staff smoking cigars. Beck was a primadonna and waited over an hour after opening band to start the show so only three songs before the thunderstorm which even the weather teams predicted. Over all shitshow.
I was so very pleased and inspired with the Radical Women exhibit. The breadth of black women artist exhibited was enough to propel me to return and further research this time period and compare how they might have been influenced by mainstream in art. It was a delight to see Betty and Alison Sayers and Elizabeth Carlette and Faithringolds pieces my long time favorites. And to become acquainted with many of the other artist of that time period. I plan to return and
Lunch at his museum dining room is always enjoyable. The food is very good and the service is excellent. They don't rush you after you've dined, so you can enjoy relaxing and looking at the sculpture in the courtyard. One can eat indoors or out.
Restaurantji Recommends
The restaurant provides a beautiful view of the courtyard and its outdoor art. The service was good but the food disappointed. The soup arrived lukewarm and the quiche was uninspired.
Visited the AK Gallery in late morning and stopped for lunch at AK Café. A great experience with professional / organized staff and food was excellent for a modest price. Recommend daily soup & quiche as were very good.
