They may be the original, but I've had crispier, saucier wings other places. Water tasted terrible and dining area had a bit of a smell.

This place is WAY too overhyped. Came here a while ago but safe to say that we will never go back. Went with a group of 9 and we had to wait almost 20 minutes just for them to take the order, and that’s because we asked the waitress. But similar to the other reviews, they had no problem instantly attending to white American families/customers coming in after us.
The worst part of this place was the service, the waitress had such a bad attitude the whole time, she did not come to check up on us once, any time we needed something we would have to call her over and she would take forever to attend to us, and then would make faces and I even caught her rolling her eyes and complaining to another coworker. I do not remember her name but she was a slim young girl with dark brown hair and fair skin.
Apart from the terrible service, the wings were very mediocre, they were kind of dry and taste wise they were nothing special whatsoever.
The only decent thing was the atmosphere of the place, they had nice decor but that’s about all they have going for them. Honestly don’t recommend at all, you can find places with better food and MUCH better service.
And note for the restaurant: don’t hire people who con not handle large groups. Our group was not even demanding or needy, we literally ordered 3 orders of 50pcs of wings and drinks, that was all we asked for; no modifications, no special instructions etc. Such a shame and waste of money. Hopefully you improve in all aspects.

Visiting the birthplace of the Buffalo wing was an incredible experience. The wings were cooked to perfection. I tried both the medium (the original) and the hot sauce, and the flavors were outstanding. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional, and having free on-site parking is a major bonus for a busy downtown spot. A must-stop for any wing lover.

The Anchor Bar is a must visit stop on any trip to Buffalo. Their claim to fame is as the home of the original Buffalo wing. We ordered 20 traditional wings (10 original buffalo and 10 honey bourbon barbecue) and a roast beef on weck sandwich. The food was great. The wings were crispy, juicy and perfectly sauced. The roast beef on weck was surprisingly delicious. The bun was salted with caraway seeds which set the flavor off beautifully. We sat at the bar and the bartender (wish I got his name) was fabulous and gave us great suggestions for things to do in Buffalo. Definitely worth a visit.

Best wings in town, probably the state. Bar staff, esp Rachel, are always friendly, attentive, and all around great folks to be around.

The wings are as good as usual. Tried two new things: anchor bar style pizza and potato with cheese. The pizza is quite tough on the surface but have a soft and juicy inside. They might just use broil mode to bake the pizza to get the crust. Interesting combination

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my highly disappointing experience here. My group waited for about 20 minutes just to place our order, but we were completely ignored by the waitress. However, as soon as a Caucasian family walked in, she immediately attended to them and took their order.
When she finally came to our table, her attitude was extremely dismissive, unprofessional, and insincere. Furthermore, I observed her exhibiting the same rude and unwelcoming behavior toward another table of Asian customers. This was our very first time experiencing such blatant discriminatory treatment in the US, and it completely ruined the mood of our entire trip.
If you are of Asian descent, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic, equal respect—something this establishment clearly lacks.

Great place for the original buffalo wings paired with fries and beef weck sandwich. Tried out the flying bison lager and it was really good. We were visiting from Texas so we bought souvenir tshirts.
It was a great time by all and our waitress Eva was personable and attentive.
Atmosphere is low key and casual so it was great for a low key kind of day.
Highly recommend! ⭐️

Exceeded my expectations for sure. Dive bar feel excellent food. Reasonable prices. Definitely get a T-shirt too. Recommend the wreck sandwich with wings, au jus and horseradish. 🤤
There is something familiar about the Anchor Bar. I think the reason is because both its ambience and its food have been copied over and over again in many institutions and franchises nationwide. That said, there is a certain authenticity that permeates this place. It can be seen in the faded autographed pictures and tasted in the wings. They are meaty, crispy, and so flavorful. The potato skins are also very tasty. I could see someone looking at the menu and griping at the prices, but such criticisms all but disappear after the first bite.

My family and I had a great time at the Anchor! Being fans of Buffalo wings, we had to make a stop at the spot of origination for this tasty food while touring colleges in the area for my son. Our waitress was great and our wait time for our meals was short. The wings were delicious, but don't go looking for anything spectacular. Don't get me wrong- they were great, but nothing different than any other kind of wings out there. We were there more for the nostalgia. The atmosphere is cool- a lot of license plates are all over the walls, and it's a pretty large bar that seats quite a few people! Definitely go if you get the chance if you're a wing lover! You won't be disappointed!
