powdered sugar
Eating at Artone's Pizza and Subs felt exactly like watching Notre Dame settle into a big game early—no nerves, no wasted motion, just confidence from the opening kick. This is the kind of place that understands who it is and leans all the way into it, the same way Notre Dame football leans into tradition, toughness, and doing things the right way.
I ordered the steak sub, and it came out like a perfectly scripted opening drive. Hot, packed, and aggressive in the best way. The steak was tender and loaded end to end, not skimpy, not scattered—every bite mattered. The bread held everything together the way a great offensive line protects its quarterback. No sloppiness, no breakdowns, just steady execution. This sub doesn’t need tricks or hype—it wins by being fundamentally sound.
Then there were the fries with powdered sugar, which honestly felt like the unexpected play call that flips momentum. You don’t expect it, but once it hits, it makes complete sense. Crispy fries with that sweet dusting worked shockingly well, like Notre Dame opening up the playbook at the perfect moment. It’s creative without being gimmicky—bold, but still disciplined. That’s good coaching, whether it’s football or food.
The whole experience lines up with the direction of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football right now. There’s an edge, but it’s controlled. There’s confidence, but it’s earned. And it all feels like it’s building toward something bigger.
That brings you to CJ Carr and the 2026 vision. Watching Notre Dame’s future unfold feels a lot like biting into that steak sub—you can tell right away the foundation is strong. Carr has that calm command, that “this moment isn’t too big” presence. The Heisman talk doesn’t feel crazy when you see how the program is stacking pieces around him. Physical up front, speed on the outside, discipline everywhere. It’s a full roster, just like this meal was a full win.
Artone’s doesn’t overload the plate just to impress—it delivers substance. Nothing felt like filler. Everything had a role, and everything executed it well. That’s Notre Dame football at its best. No flash for flash’s sake. Just consistency, power, and belief in the system.
By the time I finished eating, it felt like one of those Notre Dame games where the outcome is never really in doubt. You sit back, enjoy it, and appreciate how cleanly it was handled. Artone’s Pizza and Subs is dependable, satisfying, and quietly confident—exactly how the Irish want to be rolling into 2026.
If you love Notre Dame football, you’ll appreciate Artone’s. It’s tradition on a roll, fundamentals on a plate, and a reminder that when you do the basics right, greatness follows. ☘️🍕

Ordered a large cheese and pepperoni pizza and picked it up on my way home from work and was very disappointed when I opened the box. The pizza was paper thin and had no crust and was burn on the edges. I guess you have to say cheese, pepperoni, and double dough.

The Dargavel Pizza is awesome, and their Pretzel sticks hit the spot. The cheese sauce has a good kick to it, it's a nice change from the usual.

I have been ordering pizza and subs for over a year now. First time I have had a problem ordered a pizza yesterday and it was over cooked was dry like no cheese and no pepperoni.
A local favorite for over 40 years. I used to get their steak hoagies there in the 80's and they're just as great today!

Used to be the best hoagie by far. Today got one, with great anticipation. It was very dry, hardly any cheese and very little or no sauce. I guess need to explore other places.
