If it was possible to give no stars I would. This restaurant is definitely under new management had I known prior to placing the order I would have chosen a different restaurant. I ordered 2 catfish home style dinners, 1 fried chicken home style dinner and 2 peach cobblers which ran me almost $80. The service was blah the girl thought I was placing an in person order and when I tried to clarify some rude lady came from the back and rudely “ She just got here and doesn’t know.” No type of apology for the confusion, I should’ve left but decided to give it a chance.
The fish had no seasonings what’s so ever, the greens were violated with abundance of sugar added and the Mac and cheese was flavorless as well. The rice was advertised as dirty rice but was bland yellow rice. The hush puppies were the only edible thing of the entire meal. Poorly prepared, I’m sure local soup kitchens serve better food than this.
People work hard for their money and when you want to treat yourself and family after a long week this is extremely disappointing. Being of Caribbean descent I’m use to flavorful food. This is by far one of the worst meals I’ve had in my life. Being well traveled both in and out of the US I’ve ate better food in poorer 3rd world countries.
My boyfriend spoke to a manager yesterday and she had the audacity to say the greens are sweet and spicy. I’ve never heard of such a thing in life. Somethings are best left authentic, you do not experiment with greens!!! The fish was sooooo bland almost like nursing home food. The Mac and cheese was like it was a child cooking. The peach cobbler was soggy as hell. Like it was old and they still wanted to sell it. My boyfriend would not stop complaining about it all night. Even my son was disappointed and most kids eat everything.
All 3 meals were discarded. I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. You come in a black community and can’t even stick to the script. Very disappointing. You need to hire people of color with experience in cooking soul food/seafood. Understand your targeted audience which is people of color. It’s possible to succeed with food of this quality in Williamsvile or Hamburg. But on the eastside of Buffalo you will have no success.
I wouldn’t serve this to my Yorkie and she will eat anything and everything. It’s rare for me to write a review but this was well deserved!

i ordered a pound of mussels with a whole catfish and mac and cheese, spent $65 here and absolutely regret it. the catfish and mussels i ordered were egregiously fishy which means RANCID. the mac and cheese had the taste and texture as a .99 cent box, not even Kraft. i eat seafood regularly from mom and pop to chain restaurants and NONE have been nearly as disgusting as it was here. this was a childhood staple and clearly by the reviews the new management is running it into the ground.

Unfortunately, it's a no for me. I wanted to try this place because the original place I order from ( Park Vue on Tennessee) is closed until Thursday. I ordered a haddock fish plate. The fish doesn't taste like haddock, it's not crispy. It's disgusting. The Mac and cheese isn't homemade. It's from the box. The greens are sweet. This place doesn't know how to make soul food at all. Thanks tho

They close down to reopen with less than what they had before. It seems like they're trying to keep up with the Popeyes chicken thing instead of being a real fish market. They used to have over 15 different fish to choose from. No fish with bones. No black bass, no silver bass, no butter fish. I guess I'm going to have to try a different fish market. I should have known something was wrong when I walked in because it's barely anybody in there. I remember when it used to be so crowded you couldn't even see the floor.

My family use to go here all the time as a kid. The haddock fish fry tastes exactly how I remembered it as a child and was happy to share it with my husband and kids for the first time. Will come back the next time I am in the area.

Nope. Bought a fish sandwich today. The haddock was so tiny. More bread lettuce and tomato than fish. And it was thrown together…for 12 dollars. And this is why people are not getting takeout like we used to. Price went up n size went down
*edit to respond to owner* this was a takeout order during my lunch break and I didn’t have time to bother, just made a mental note to never return…and the cooks should’ve known that that piece was smaller than what’s normally used , IF that was the case. And thanks but takeout is too expensive and thr are too many options to give it another shot; u didn’t even offer a discount on my next order to resolve the issue.

Service and atmosphere I know nothing about that first time coming here so I checked out the menu looked at the photos, looked at the fish sandwich, haddock and nothing like this look at the website for the haddock fish sandwich don’t look nothing like this never again😩😩 Didn’t look like the picture, but that fish was good and I don’t know what it was fresh. I think they took the fish from the middle part of the fish. That fish was good. It was thick. It was seasoned just right that fish was good. It didn’t look like the picture, but now then I thought about it, they may have took the fish part from the middle of the fish.
