We didn't get to eat here as we just stopped in for a drink while we waited for some friends but I'm giving it 5 stars for one reason: Matty the bartender. We were visiting Buffalo for the UWBHF games and Matty gave us a literal list of places we need to visit while we were there. I think we made it to about half the places he listed but they were all great. And his margaritas and palomas were't too shabby either. If I'm ever back in Buffalo I'm gonna make it a point to come back and eat here. Thanks again, Matty!

One of my favorite late night spots because they have food late night. Their tacos are delicious. I always get the beef barbacoa and al pastor. The tortillas are always fresh. I always get a dozen to go and make my own tacos or chips at home. The oxtail taquitos are the ones shown in the picture. They are so so good. It’s an appetizer not an entree but I think this is enough for dinner. It’s 4 taquitos (flautas is what I call them) sitting on a bed of sauce that’s very mild but all the flavor comes from the oxtail. Ask for hot sauce if you want them to be spicy pretty much for anything. Now for service, I’ve had very good service on many occasions. There’s one server who is amazing and really sweet so lucky you if you are served by her. However, on multiple occasions I have had to ask twice for the hot sauces because I can’t eat unless I have my spicy sauce. I’ve waited till my food was cold and finally had to get up and go get it myself. I know sometimes it can get busy but a guest should not be waiting on something for that long when asked from the get go. I don’t try to be rude at all or throw anyone under the bus. I do hope that they give better service to their next table. Don’t let this keep you from heading over to have great food.Overall I would give this place 4.5/5. It’s definitely more of a modern take on Mexican food. The food gets to you super quick. The margaritas are great! I recommend to everyone.

We were there for st Patrick’s day celebration! My wife and I went to use the bathroom, once I came out of the bathroom and my wife was waiting outside, I wrapped my arms around her, then the owner asked my wife if she knew her name, my wife didn’t, so she said we were too drunk and kick us out because she said we looked too drunk! She was actually intoxicated herself and kept bothering us, we decided to leave because we didn’t want to make a scene. I wouldn’t go again to a place which its owner is running it while intoxicated and not knowing how to handle situations.

Server was nice and atmosphere was fine but this was super whitewashed Mexican food. Not authentic at all.

One more entree choice and I will have completed the entire menu at this amazing neighborhood Mexican cantina. I always sit at the bar to dine as long with a few tip shelf Margaritas. The bartenders are all very professional but friendly knowing when you need anything to just let you enjoy it all. Hard to find that talent of service! I've never had a bad here... not even close. About as close to absolute perfection that you can find Authentic, not Americanized Mexican food done very well in a nice busy spot. Highly recommended

Highly recommend a night out at Casa Azul for some great cuisine! The barbacoa taco was the best of the trio. The food, tunes, and atmosphere made for a great experience!

Caza Azul offers delectable and fairly portioned Mexican options at a very fair price. I split the Queso Fundido with my friend, which had a great flavor profile and honey on top which I enjoyed! The homemade chips were also delicious. For dinner, I ordered the three vegetarian tacos - I loved that they let you mix and match what tacos you get so that you can try different styles! It's a great place to go for vegetarians as everything is clearly marked on the menu which makes it easy to order. They have so many margarita flavors which were all unique and fun to try! The inside is a little cramped, but nicely decorated and very trendy. The waiters were working hard although it seemed they were a bit understaffed.

Casa Azul in Buffalo really nails it with their awesome service and killer food. Their duck taquitos are super tasty, and the carne asada? Grilled just right. Definitely worth checking out.

Just a heads up- if you call to make a reservation, you're actually contacting the one in nyc. This location doesn't take reservations. Besides that, the atmosphere was cool- very similar to my old favorite cantina loco. The waitress got a couple of simple things wrong, and my friend immediately knew something was wrong with her chicken taco. Three hours later she had intense food poisoning. Wish I had better things to say!

The food is very good and we haven’t been disappointment. Service could be a little bit more attentive. Unfortunately the restaurant gets extremely loud so it is very hard to carry on a conversation.

Great vibe and location. And great they were open late.Being from Texas though, this was not what we expected for Mexican.I think if you went just wanting an interesting food experience it would be different. Food wasn’t terrible. But nothing was great. A lot was interesting.
