I’ve been a loyal customer at Charlie’s for years, spending hundreds of dollars because I truly loved the food. But one rude, discriminatory interaction changed everything. I was denied a sample under the assumption I wasn’t going to purchase—after I had already sampled everything and was deciding. The tone, the judgment, and the lack of respect were unnecessary and unprofessional. When corporate followed up, I was asked what I wanted—a loaded question that felt more like a formality than a genuine attempt to make things right. I offered a calm, thoughtful response and was met with disinterest. That said it all. It’s not about the sample. It’s about how customers are treated. One bad experience ruined years of loyalty. I no longer support Charlie’s—and I don’t need to. I can make the food myself.

Always stop there when I’m in town
Our first introduction to a Buffalo mainstay, beef-on-weck—beef on a seeded bun. BIG sandwich with quality fries and onion rings. Most enjoyable low budget meal. Order and soon get you your order. Wednesday was corned beef night and that sandwich seemed a favorite of locals.
Delicious! A perfect stop on our trip to Buffalo. Friendly diner atmosphere, fresh carved meat, soup & pies.

While we are not wild about Beef on Weck, we decided to give it another try due to the reviews of Charlie the Butcher. While still not a fan, their sandwich was the best Beef on Weck we've had in Buffalo. Their other food is pretty good, as well.
Just amazing sandwiches, beef on Weck was the best I've ever had! Sides were great too, amazing mashed potatoes!
A little pricey-ish, but usually very good.

Great lunch spot
Roast beef was medium well, not rare as shown in the picture. Very disappointing. Was still flavorful and not dry though.
Good beef on weck
Fabulous tender hand carved Roast Beef on the perfect kimmelweck roll. One of the Best if not the best in the area!!!?
