We had spaghetti and meatballs and pesto. Both of us were disappointed. Meatballs cost extra and were not very good. Didn’t like the sauce either. Really wanted to like this place.
Legendary landmark restaurant in downtown Buffalo. Great Italian food and atmosphere

I have been here many times but not in the past year or so. The food is usually very good. The food seemed to be just basic(the sauce did not have much flavor to it). I had the lasagne it was a little burnt on the bottom but was edible. Just not up to the experience I had expected or had hoped for. The service was pretty good.

Food is absolutely amazing. Spaghetti parm and chicken parm are the best. Always make reservations because they're always busy.

Definitely had to try the spaghetti parm and it was great. Our server seemed bothered by us and the food wasn't anything memorable. Not sure I would be back.

Phyllis was absolutely amazing. She made us feel like guests in her home. The food was fantastic as always. My son's ask to travel here from Indianapolis every year for their favorite Italian food.

Chefs is always a treat. Sweet sauce and heaping pasta portions. It’s world renown right in the heart of Buffalo so make a reservation. Gotta get the staple - Spaghetti Parm - a buttery and cheesy mound of spaghetti.

Chef’s is a true Buffalo gem for authentic Italian comfort food. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping back in time—in the best way. The atmosphere is rich with history, and the food absolutely delivers.
We started with the stuffed peppers, which were spicy, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our mains, we had both the chicken parm and the eggplant parm—each one was generously portioned and packed with flavor. I tried the “double parm” with both chicken and spaghetti smothered in sauce and cheese. It was delicious, though next time I’d skip the parm on the pasta just for easier eating. Still, no complaints!
The house red wine was smooth and paired beautifully with the meal. And dessert? The cannoli was spot-on—crispy shell, creamy filling, just sweet enough.
Jayme, our server, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and even packed up our leftovers with care. Portions are hearty, so next time we’ll likely split a dinner if we’re ordering apps again.
If you’re looking for a place that serves up generous portions of classic Italian fare with a side of Buffalo nostalgia, Chef’s is it. We’ll definitely be back!.

Chef’s is everything you want in a classic Italian spot—warm, nostalgic, and absolutely delicious. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping back in time. The history of the place adds so much character, and the food speaks for itself. We started with the stuffed peppers—spicy, flavorful, and a perfect appetizer. For mains, we had both the chicken parm and the eggplant parm. The chicken was tender and cheesy, and the eggplant held its own—just as satisfying. I tried the “double parm” with both chicken and spaghetti covered in sauce and cheese. It was tasty, though next time I’d skip the parm on the pasta just for easier eating. The house red wine was smooth and paired beautifully with the meal. Dessert was a classic cannoli—crispy shell, creamy filling, and just the right sweetness. Jaymie, our server, was friendly and attentive, even packing up our generous leftovers with care. Pro tip: if you’re ordering apps, consider splitting a main—portions are big! Chef’s is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian food with a side of Buffalo tradition. We’ll definitely be back!
