I visited D.A Taste & D.A Eatz yesterday 2/28. At D.A Taste the customer service was great, I couldn’t remember the girl name who helped me but she was. Awesome. It was pretty busy upon arriving. I asked her, her favorite drinks and tacos and she helped me. I didn’t get a taco because I thought D.A Eatz had them too so I only got the Mango Dragonfruit lemonade. The lemonade was a 6/10 i love they use fresh lemon but the lemonade does over power the taste of the mango and dragonfruit. You only get a hint of each. Also I didn’t like the taste of the granulated sugar taste, I would recommend liquid sugar and see if that taste better but the atmosphere was amazing. I would return. D.A Eatz again the customer service was ON POINT, again I don’t remember the girls name but she was super helpful, when making decisions on what to get. I got the wings, pineapple lemonade and watermelon mojito. Watermelon mojito 5/10 again you faintly taste the main flavor and I don’t like the taste of granulated sugar. Pineapple lemonade- 10/10 my FAVORITE ā¤ļø just don’t like the taste of the sugar. I will try the tacos 🌮 and will come again.

Food is bland as hell. Don’t understand the hype.

me and a buddy placed an order, was told 15-20 min wait. my buddy got his food after 20 mins i waited another 15 minutes and asked about my food they said they were finishing it up. waited another 15 minutes asked again they said my order was lost in the system and never started. After over an hour of waiting and watching my friend eat and most of their staff on break also eating i just got my refund and left. Nothing was offered to make it right. How unfortunate

There tacos were some of the worst tacos I've ever had in my life. I'm amazed at the popularity of this place. The inside was nicely decorated and seemed like a good spot to vibe So I was very shocked when I bit into my taco. I tried the jerk taco, Brirria taco and chips with queso.... Everything was terrible.

Wow. The way this place is hyped I thought it was going to be good, I thought my food would be edible at least. OVER HYPED. Not even close to authentic and way too expensive.

I’ve been following on Instagram and Facebook since the opening and I finally had the opportunity to go today! I definitely recommend giving this place a try! The staff was so welcoming and just genuinely happy to be there assisting and talking with you. One of the tacos I wanted to try was unavailable so the cashier gave a suggestion and hands down it was my favorite out of the 2 I ordered. I got the sweet corn brisket taco and it was delicious! These tacos are not made cheaply! You definitely get what you pay for! Large portions and great taste. The restaurant itself was easy to get to, parking was easy to obtain, the restaurant was super clean and very nice! I will definitely be coming back!

So I been on this place since the lines went around the block. They would sell out which helped in the hype of their tacos because you didn't want to miss out! Especially when they had a new combination they were experimenting with for permanent menu residency. Prior to Larkin their tacos where never a disappointment, always well filled, fresh...oh and the pretzel bites...the best!! The owner used to smoke his own brisket which was far superior that what he currently outsources. My order was always around $100, because the way these bad boys would reheat in an air fryer...heavenly. leftovers were welcomed and the quality and portion size was worth the price.
And the service was always on point. Especially when the owners are there putting in the work to see their dreams come to fruition.
Customers always left extra tid bits on their order reciepts. I just know the da taste fam had to really appreciate being able to have a chuckle even though it was non-stop busy. Some of their 'greatest hits' of the day would be shared with us on Facebook. Almost made it competitive; you wanted to be shared! so just writing any old thing wasn't gonna cut it. Give it some thought, make it clever and wait to see if your reciept has made it into Facebook fame.
They outgrew the spaces they were in very quickly, it was only natural progression for them to have a restaurant that was 100% theirs from the ground up. From the wallpaper to the tables and chairs (yes! They have a spot to sit and eat now!!) every detail was their choice.
I recently ate at the new Larkin restaurant. I was actually disappointed for the first time. The tacos just didnt hit. They were thinly stuffed, they didnt taste 100% fresh...seemed like parts were cooked prior to ordering then warmed up when they actually built the taco.
The service wasn't bad, but it definitely was not anything that you would get at another quick eatery. Not from someone with pure gratitude for you choosing them as your food choice that day.
They were clever in the menu lay out in the beginning offering 3 of the same tacos for just a little less then the cost of buying 3 tacos individually. So once you got to 2 tacos, it only made sense to spend the extra couple bucks to get the third.
Currently they are trying to expand their menu beyond tacos, attempting to sell ramen, ice cream, street corn, alcohol, birria balls, I think I seen a pierogi or ravioli looking like thing a one point. I understand it, they don't want to be a fad...they want to be around for the long haul. So stick to what you know, what got you to this point of success, and just make amazing tacos.
In my opinion, they are doing too much and lost the sweat equity, the drive and desire for more which in turn made them strive for perfection. Its as if they became more commercialized, lost that je ne sais quoi that made them worth standing in line for an hour or more in the snow hoping that when it was your turn to order, they still had what you wanted to eat. Stick to what you know them tacos used to be bangin.
But there's good news here too. If you've never eaten there before, and you decide to try them, you will think I'm a crazy lady for all that I've said. Truth is their food is still delicious and it will be 5 stars to you when you dont know what youre missing. But if you're someone that's been through 3 spots cheering them on...take pride in knowing that you were part of their support that made them a household name. And remember the good ole days of delish da taste. Plus there's ice cream now ?
