Will definitely be coming back. I placed 2 orders of oxtail dinners and several beef and chicken patties. Food was absolutely delicious!!!!! Cooked to perfection and spiced well. Owner was extremely friendly and understands how to run a business. Give this place a chance and you won’t regret it. 👌👌👌

Went here for a quick snack. Wasn’t pleased. Beef patties were dry, not juicy at all. Also feel they were very over priced considering what I got. Also asked for pineapple ginger beer and lady grabbed the wrong drink twice. Love black owned businesses but this one could do better. 4beef patties and 2drinks came up to 23$ after tasting wish I kept my coins.

This place is a less known gem that is starting to be more recognized. The food is unbelievable, the goat, the brown stew chicken, the oxtails… everything is delicious, flavorful and well balanced with spices and heat. A true representation of traditional Jamaican food at its best. We got takeout but the restaurant itself is very clean, well lit and comfortable.
My new favorite Carribean restaurant. I came in not knowing what to expect. I had visited 2 other places prior to coming to Genesis Rising. Both times trying their curry goat.So I ordered the Curry Goat, rice n peas, cabbage topped with some plantain.I have to be honest and mention the other places weren't bad.But at Genesis Rising, the meat was flavored perfectly, the cabbage, with the perfect texture, the rice n peas were light and fluffy and the peas (beans) done really well, nice and tender and the Plantain was exactly what I was hoping. Color perfect, taste... perfect and I WOULD recommend Genesis Rising to carribeans who love their Carribean cuisine and for those curious about the boastful flavors that Carribean food has to offer. GENESIS RISING has definitely gained a customer for as long as I'm here in Buffalo.The restaurant was nice and clean, set in the perfect location. I would like to see them be able to have better parking; because there is no way that Genesis Rising isn't gonna have it busy moments, if it doesn't already.Staff was remarkably pleasant, professional and friendly.I'm a sucker for the Jamaican accent anyway especially when the people are nice.The owner was exceptionally kind and professional sparking conversation to see where her new customers were coming from.I'll be back and I will without a doubt be letting people know where to go for phenomenal Carribean Cuisine.Genesis Rising.Until we see each other again.

I’m here from out of town & really wanted some Jamaican food , this was the worst I have ever had , my food was very dry , I had about 7 pieces of cabbage, meat not done and just not tasteful at all . I’m very upset about wasting $22 on this .

Back in the day you had several options in Buffalo for great Jamaica food. Now theirs only one. I had the oxtails and the meat was the perfect and the rice omg was everything. I'm already thinking about the next time. Service was friendly and the building is super clean.Update..It's so good I had to come back and get more. The meat is so tender it falls off the bone. The rice is fire. So sick of regular white plain rice. Mac and cheese taste like your grandmother made it. Thanks for the experience
